Welcome to another Tarot Tuesday!
If you are just joining me, let me explain the inspiration to begin these posts. In Texas, and all across the country, Taco Tuesday is a popular day when Tacos are usually 99 cents. So, I had the inspiration, or Angel nudge as I like to think of it, to create a Tarot Tuesday. Each Tuesday I will post a different Tarot card and give its meaning. I pray and ask for the right card that will bring a universal message.
I created a short video to demonstrate how I pull the card for the posts. If you’re interested, here’s a LINK.
Today’s card is the Nine of Cups.
The Suit of Cups Tarot cards deal with the emotional level of consciousness and are associated with love, feelings, relationships and connections.
The keywords associated with this card are: Contentment, satisfaction, gratitude, or maybe a wish come true.
You know those moments when you glance around and feel your heart overflowing with love and appreciation for everything you have created in your life? That’s what the Nine of Cups is about. When this card appears in a Tarot reading, you are content in all aspects of your life – relationships, work, lifestyle, well-being and more. You are basking in the abundance of life and experiencing your emotions with such intensity and pleasure.
This is why the Nine of Cups is often called the wish card. It comes as a sign that the planets aligned and you have everything you wished for. You could not be happier! If you made your wish and are patiently waiting for it to come to fruition, then this card is an excellent omen that it will soon be granted.
The Nine of Cups is an invitation to enjoy life’s pleasures. This includes enjoying good food and wine, appreciating the arts, making love, relaxing in a luxurious resort or experiencing beauty. Live in the moment and give yourself permission to indulge temporarily without any guilt about the possible negative consequences of such pleasure.
When you see the Nine of Cups in a reading, remember to count your blessings and express gratitude for what you have. Start or end every day by creating a mental list of the three things for which you are most grateful. Over time, you will intensify your sense of contentment and your ability to attract what you wish for – it is the Law of Attraction. If you are struggling to find the positive side of life, then expressing gratitude will help you see that you have a lot to be glad about.
One thing to keep in mind with the Nine of Cups is that he is sitting on a wooden bench that is comfortable for only a limited period. Realize that contentment and fulfillment, too, are only temporary as everything is always in a state of change. That’s why it is so important to appreciate what you have now and cherish it because it may disappear later or you may need to adjust and adapt.
Wow! I am blown away by this card. I recently participated in a Pitchfest where I queried Agents and Editors. I did not receive any interest, but it spurred me to query some publishers direct. Who the heck knows, but maybe this card is a sign that eventually I’ll get someone interested in publishing my White Rune Series. I’ll take it as a good omen! How about you? How does this card resonate with you?
Thank you for joining me! See you next Tuesday for another inspiring message from the Universe via the Tarot Cards!
As always, I use the Rider-Waite Radiance deck and BiddyTarot.com for interpretations.
A great card, Jan. I have made a note of this one.
Wonderful, Robbie! Thank you for stopping by!
I definitely have a couple of hardships right now, BUT I am also content in my life. I try to focus on the positive while negating the voice that always pushes my anxiety button. I focus on gratitude every day. Meditation helps. 🙂
You are SO right Yvette! Meditation helps keep us grounded and centered. Focusing on the positive is the only way to go! Thank you for stopping by!
Counting my blessings and ever grateful… <3 Wonderful reminder, Jan.
Wonderful, Bette! Thank you for stopping by!
Great card this week, Jan:) It’s a good reminder to me to start putting out there what I want more and to be more grateful for all I have. This hit me that everything so so temporary that good and bad come and go. Sometimes its easy to get stuck in the bad and forget good is coming. Thanks, Jan!
You hit the nail on the head, Denise. We get so attached to the way things are today without realizing it is all in a constant state of change – both the good and the bad. And, yes, when we count our blessings and mean it when we give thanks, we’ll find we have more to count. 🙂 Thank you so much for coming by and leaving a comment! Hugs!
Sometimes we forget to remember all the blessings in our life, but when we stop and examine them, there are many. I’m wishing you luck on querying publishers directly, Jan!
Thank you, Mae. I think of it like fishing. If I never put my hook in the water, I’ll never catch a fish. 🙂 I agree that we always need to give thanks for our blessings, because no matter the circumstances at the moment, the blessings are there! I appreciate you stopping by! Hugs!
This is such a lovely card, Jan!! And I love your idea of the daily mental list. I think that’s something we should all do. It would bring a better sense of one’s self, to focus on what we’re grateful for instead of what we may have missed out on during the day. 🖤 Another note… I love that you’ve felt the push to reach out to publishers directly. Sending positive vibes your way, friend!!
Lol, Mar. Thank you for the positive publisher vibes. I will never know if I don’t try. 🙂 I love it when I truly feel the thanks for my blessings all the way to my toes and it’s more than just words. I appreciate you stopping by and leaving a comment! Hugs!
You’re exactly right! If you want it, you should just go for it! 😘
Nice to see this guy show up. I’ve been in a bit of a funk lately, and feel it fading away. This was before I got here, so I’ll take him as a good sign.
Yep! I agree. Take him as a confirmation that the sun will shine on you again. But, with the wooden bench reminder, everything is always temporary. 🙂 Thank you for stopping by!

Each day I’m left with the feeling that I didn’t accomplish all that I wanted to do. This card reminds me to look at what was accomplished and not concentrate on the undone. Thanks, Jan.
I totally relate to that feeling, John. I always am left feeling like I should have done more, so this card is such a great reminder to honor the accomplishments no matter how big or small! Thanks for stopping by!
😊
I love the insight about the wooden bench. Thanks for explaining this card, Jan.
I did too, Staci. It’s a reminder that everything is temporary – good or bad! Thanks so much for stopping by! I’ve missed you!
I missed you, too.

This is such a wonderful card to receive. OMG!! The bare contentment and the awareness that all is well. It is not only a confirmation for many but a reminder that we should step out of the hamster wheel and become still and aware of how blessed we are (as you said) 💖
I totally agree, Erika! I was ecstatic when I received this card to share today. It’s such a positive reminder to always count our blessings, and they are there, no matter the circumstances! Thanks for stopping by!
Yes, you say it, they are always there. Somtimes we only need to turn our head. And the card is a wonderful reminder. Thank you too 😊
