This was a great short story. I immediately connected with Quentin, the main character. The author does a fantastic job of drawing you into his plight from the beginning. Any story that can get me to invest this much emotion into its characters is a great one!

The author does a great job in character development and brings the story together. Readers will love Quentin and hate both Rowdy and his mother. I was surprised that Quentin takes the path he does at the end. Great job, Jan.

The author did a great job of making me sympathetic for Quentin, and highly ticked at both Rowdy and his mother. I was surprised how the story went in the end. It certainly held me captive to the way the plot unfolded. A surprising and intriguing look at human nature.

Author Jan Sikes paints the consequence of a painful family dynamic. A good short story for people who enjoy a fiction story with a challenging hypothesis.
