What Reviewers are saying:

Jewel is a fast and smooth read without errors and held my attention to the very last word. Well done Jan Sikes! Highly recommended read…even if you don’t know the song(s) this story commemorates

Jewel is a short story that takes no more than a half-hour. In that time though the author transports the reader to a different world where what seems wrong will be right. I would recommend this story to anyone who loves to be involved in a tale and is willing to be moved by it.

I loved this short story. The story was clear & easy to follow. The title of the story clearly relates to the story of a poor family of a mother & two girl children who are in a desperate need to save themselves from their impoverishment. The plot, as well as the concept of the story, is creative, unique & interesting…

Well-developed characters, realistic colloquial dialogue, and an intriguing plot. A great read.
