#TarotTuesday – The High Priestess

Welcome to another Tarot Tuesday!

If you are just joining me, let me explain the inspiration to begin these posts. In Texas, and all across the country, Taco Tuesday is a popular day when Tacos are usually 99 cents. So, I had the inspiration, or Angel nudge as I like to think of it, to create a Tarot Tuesday. Each Tuesday I will post a different Tarot card and give its meaning. I pray and ask for the right card that will bring a universal message.

I created a short video to demonstrate how I pull the card for the posts. If you’re interested, here’s a LINK.

Today’s card is from the Major ArcanaTHE HIGH PRIESTESS.

As so often happens when I draw a card, I question the relevance, but as always, the answer becomes crystal clear.

The Keywords for this card are: Intuition, sacred knowledge, divine feminine, and the subconscious mind.

The High Priestess is the guardian of the subconscious mind and the teacher of sacred knowledge and hidden mysteries. Sitting at the threshold of the conscious and subconscious mind, the High Priestess has an innate ability to travel between these realms effortlessly. She teaches you that the world is not always as it seems and more profound influences are often at play. She ushers you through the thin veil of awareness, offering you a deep, intuitive understanding of the Universe and a heightened awareness of secret or hidden information.

The High Priestess signifies spiritual enlightenment, inner illumination, divine knowledge and wisdom. She shows up in your Tarot readings when the veil between you and the underworld is thin, and you have the opportunity to access the knowledge deep within your soul. Now is the time to be still so you can tune in to your intuition. The answers you are seeking will come from within, from your deepest truth and ‘knowing’. Allow the High Priestess to become your guide as you venture deep into your subconscious mind and access this inner wisdom. Connect with your intuition and your Higher Self through meditation, visualisation, shamanic journeying, and being part of spiritual communities.

Your intuitive sense right now is providing you with useful information and is assisting you to become more in touch with your subconscious mind. Knowledge of how to fix any issues in your life will not come through thinking and rationalizing, but by tapping into and trusting your intuition.

Now is also a time of heightened intuitive ability and psychic insight. If you are developing these skills, the High Priestess offers you further encouragement to continue your journey and trust that you are on the right path. The more you listen to your intuition, the more it will flow.

Finally, the High Priestess is a signal that you are being called to embrace the Divine Feminine – your connection to your intuition, compassion, empathy, and inner wisdom. Regardless of your gender, it is vital for you to balance and integrate your masculine and feminine energies, and the presence of the High Priestess signals that your sacred feminine needs your attention right now. Feel, rather than think. Collaborate, rather than compete. Create, rather than destroy.

There is so much detail and symbolism in this card that it’s hard to absorb it all.

With the efforts beginning to reopen businesses and restart the economy, the advice given through this card could not be more profound. Feel rather than think, seems to be extremely important and appropriate. Following our own intuition rather than what the masses are doing will serve us all well. What do you think? Can you relate to this card in any way?

Thank you for joining me! See you next Tuesday for another inspiring message from the Universe via the Tarot Cards!

As always, I use the Rider-Waite Radiance deck and BiddyTarot.com for interpretations.

  1. I appreciate your interpretation, Jan. The world has changed and won’t go back to the way it was. We have an opportunity to reinvent ourselves and the world we want to live in. Time for intuition, a broader awareness, and a stronger presence of the feminine. Loved this pick. 🙂

    1. I totally agree, Diana. When I try to envision what our “new” world will look like, I fail miserably. I have no idea, but, like you, I do know it won’t go back to being the same. Now is the time for us to rely on our inner guidance for sure. Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving a comment!

  2. That is so beautiful, Vashti! For me, sometimes finding a balance is a challenge, and once in a while, I get there. 🙂 Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment! Hugs!

  3. My sacred feminine has always been a huge influence. I’ve been feeling her even more lately. Thanks for the reading, Jan. Stay safe and healthy. <3 xo

  4. Jan- I loved this card. Thanks for sharing and also for these readings. I am learning so much from you. I hope you’re doing well. I do feel closer right now to my inner self and intuition at this time.
Love you, hugs and stay healthy & happy.

    1. I think this shut-down from the hectic pace of our lives had caused many of us to get more in touch with our inner selves. And that is a good thing. There always has to be a silver lining. Thank you so much for stopping by! Love you!

  5. Powerful card indeed Jan. Sad about the early openings, My inner intuition tells me this is a bad idea. I hope you will stay safe <3

    1. I totally agree, Debby. As Yvette said above, following the (m)asses is not a good idea. Especially right now. Our inner intuition, our higher selves will nudge us in the right direction. Stay well and safe! Thank you for stopping by!

    1. Mine too, Colleen! And strangely enough, even amidst the turmoil all around, I feel at peace. It’s almost a disconnected feeling. I’m glad you stopped by and that the card spoke to you! Hugs!

  6. Phew! Given the recent events in my life, this card is eerily apt. I have never been so attuned to my subconscious and events that have unfolded and continue to unfold have me in touch with my inner self and those around me more than ever before. Thanks, Jan!

    1. I am so glad this card speaks to your life circumstances, Soooz. Being attuned to our inner self brings such a peaceful feeling even in turbulent times. Thanks so much for stopping by. Stay well, my friend!

  7. We couldn’t have a more appropriate card for this time of massive change! Thanks so much, Jan. I love how you explained the card and applied it to our circumstances. Truly beautiful! ♥

  8. Every tarot card is powerful most of all those of the major arcana. This one felt especially powerful. The High Priestess as the prophet of a new consciousness arising. Teaching us not to cut one part off – mind, heart, and soul equivalently important. The secret lies in aligning them. What a powerful card!

    1. Thank you for stopping by, Erika. Aligning our heart, mind, and soul is a great formula for inner peace. I agree. This is a very powerful card!

      1. Reading your reply I just noticed how well our posts went along with each other (the card and my quote). Alignment of heart, mind, and soul or the highest form of synchronization, as you said. Wow!

I always do better when I allow my intuition side flow. My logic side is strong though and fights it and it’s a constant battle. I recently concluded the only way to deal with the virus and responses is to tap into this. Very timely for me, thanks Jan.

    1. I do the same thing, Denise. My logic always wants a definitive answer. But when I let go of that and go with intuition, my life flows SO much better. Thank you so much for leaving a comment! Hugs!

  10. Jan, this is such a beautiful & meaningful card. The statement – “Feel, rather than think. Collaborate, rather than compete. Create, rather than destroy.” – is perfectly said. This definitely applies to what we are experiencing right now, but it goes further than that too. Or at least it should. Such positive actions that could bring people together instead of tearing countries apart. As always, thank you for sharing, Jan. ❤

    1. You put it beautifully, Marlena! I live for the day that we see people coming together and collaborating instead of trying to tear each other apart! Thank you so much for your comment! Hugs!

  11. “Feel, rather than think. Collaborate, rather than compete. Create, rather than destroy.” These words are very appropriate right now, Jan. My Devine Feminine has my full attention. Thanks.

  13. I have always had a strong intuition, but I haven’t always been connected to it or listened to it. I think that causes a lot of my anxiety. Since I’m stuck at home, a lot of that white noise has been silenced, and I’ve been able to meditate more, feel more, and think more clearly. It’s been one of my silver linings during this mess.

As for following the (m)asses of mob mentality that is brewing in our country, I will be staying home and waiting to see the results of those who venture out too early. Better to be safe than sorry. 😊

    1. I can sense that you have a very strong intuition, Yvette, and most likely are an empath in that you feel others’ emotions deeply. I am happy that you’ve found a silver lining in the midst of the pandemic. Perhaps that is even why it had to happen, to shut us down and give us a break from the hectic pace of life. At any rate, I’m with you on following the (m)asses. Thank you so much for leaving a comment. Have a wonderful day!
