Welcome back to another gemstone post!
Today, I want to share with you a common gemstone that packs quite a powerful punch. Amazonite is a feel-better stone.
These are just a few Amazonite pieces I have scattered throughout the house. My favorite is the gorgeous bracelets that I wear often.
Amazonite has always been prized for its beauty and healing power. This pale green mineral rock is believed to date back as far as the 10th century BC.
Amazonite stones are also thought to have tremendous healing abilities. Similar to jade, amazonite is associated with money, luck, and overall success. It’s known as the “gambler’s stone,” encouraging good luck and fortune, especially when combined with Tiger’s Eye.
Amazonite is said to have a soothing effect on the nervous system. Since the nervous system controls our emotions a great deal, this stone is said to soothe tense and aggravated situations and to enhance love, especially when combined with Rose Quartz.
Since this stone is associated with the throat and heart, it is best when worn as a necklace near these areas. Amazonite is said to bestow truth, honor, and integrity to its wearer.
Amazonite is used to treat fatigue, trauma, or anything else that may take energy away from a person. Amazonite is said to help with thyroid gland issues and also aids in treating alcoholism. It has a gentle healing quality that is useful to nearly everyone in a general manner.
I’d love to hear from you. Do you have this gorgeous stone?
Intriguing, Jan. I’m very much a “rock geek” and I love my amazonite. I’m drawn to the pastel green-blue variety. I had not heard of combining it with tiger-eye. Terrific idea. Hugs on the wing!
It’s always wonderful to know I have another “rock geek” friend, Teagan. 🙂 I’m glad you stopped by and enjoyed the post!
As Staci pointed out, it’s such a soothing color- love it!
I agree, Jacquie. It is a soothing color. Thank you for stopping by!
I don’t have this stone (yet), but it is now on my radar. Great post, Jan! 🙂
I hope you find one soon. Maybe Santa will bring you one, Yvette. 🙂 Thank you for stopping by!
I don’t have this stone, but if it’s a stress reliever, we could all use a little of that. These are fascinating posts, Jan.
I’m so glad you are enjoying the posts, Joan. I agree about the stress-reliever properties of Amazonite. And it’s a beautiful stone. Thanks for stopping by!
Lovely, Jan. I go to a Naturopathic doctor who uses stones in her practice. I’m always in awe. 💗
Oh, how wonderful, Gwen. Natural medicine is the best way to go whenever possible. I love that gemstones and essential oils are a big part of natural healing. Thank you for sharing!
I don’t have any of these stones but I’ve often seen them in jewelry. What wonderful properties they have!
I agree, Mae. Thank you for stopping by!
What a wonderful stone, in look and effects. That color is totally what I am drawn to, and that aspect of soothing nervousness makes it a perfect fit for me. I have to look out for that stone. I don’t have one yet.
Thanks for your comment, Erika. I hope you find one!
Probably it will find me 😄
I love amazonite. I have many of these bracelets in different stones, seems that’s all I wear on my arm for years. 🙂 x
Right, Debby. Because they just feel good! Thanks for stopping by!
I feel protected wearing them, mostly my favs among a pile of them – black tourmaline, rosequartz <3
A powerful sounding stone Jan and I must look around for some jewellry made from it… I used to live near an amazing semi-precious stone shop and I have a number of rings and necklaces that I love wearing.. xxx
Oh my! If I lived near a gemstone shop, I’d be continuously broke. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment, Sally! I’d love to see your collection of jewelry. I’m sure you have some amazing pieces!
Who knows Jan perhaps one day we can enjoy comparing pieces in person..♥
I love bracelets made out of crystals. Haven’t got one made out of this stone Jan … Gorgeous!
Thank you for leaving a comment, Marje! Gemstone bracelets just feel good!
I don’t have any Amazonite. I may need to get some. Thanks, Jan.
It is a beautiful little feel-good stone. How do you like my new background image, John? I stole it from you! 🙂
I had to go back and look. Yes, it is beautiful. I’m glad you are using it.
I’m going to just say it. I think your site, Jan, is one of my absolute favorites. You share about all the things I’m fascinated by! Gemstones, tarot cards, crystals. Not to mention books & writing. Fortunately, I know a few things about gemstones and their meanings. Rose Quartz & Tiger’s Eye are probably at the top of my list! Thank you so much for sharing. I can’t wait til the next one!
Awww, thank you, Mar. I am so glad you enjoy my blog site. I thoroughly enjoy creating content to share. I agree with you about Rose Quartz and Tiger’s Eye. They are both wonderful stones!! I’m happy you stopped by and left a message!
Wow! This is a powerful stone but as far as I know, I don’t have one. It’s odd and interesting how I can buy a small bag of rocks at various places, usually at tourist gift shops, and never know what they are. I’ve collected rocks since we were children but I never paid much attention to their names. I loved them for their beauty and because they come from the earth. I’m just now starting to learn the names of some. A lot are too hard to remember and pronounce therefore I just love them for their beauty. Merry Christmas, sister! Thank you for my Rose Quartz and Leopard Skin Jasper bracelets! I love them.
I totally agree, sister. It wasn’t until the large Amethyst showed up in a packing box that I really started studying the different aspects of the stones. I just love learning and sharing! Thank you for stopping by and you are most welcome for the bracelets!
Fatigue? Sign me up! Thanks for sharing, Jan.
We need all the help we can get this time of the year, Jill. Thanks for stopping by!
I need to touch it. Sigh. This sounds lovely.
I need to decorate my entire body with it, Jacqui!
You ladies are cracking me up!
Oh yeah!
Wish I could zap it to you, Jacqui. Thanks for stopping by!
I love Amazonite! I am blessed to have polished/tumbles pieces as well as a large chunk of raw Amazonite. Good stuff here.
It is a wonderful little stone, isn’t it, Annette? Thank you for your comment!
Lol, Staci. You make a good point. A lovely pale green flag instead of orange would be nice. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
This sounds like a stone which might be on my buying list for the new year.
Thanks for these posts. I find them very helpful when picking out stones.
Wonderful, Patty! I appreciate you stopping by!
Hi Jan, I share these and your Tarot Meditation Motivation posts to a Facebook group I belong to.
People seem to love them.
Back when you were doing the runes posts I shared that entire series.
I don’t have this stone, but it’s lovely. And now I’m a little miffed that Amazon uses orange instead of this soothing pale green. It feels like a missed opportunity. (You know, because Jeff Bezos needed more success and luck. lol)
