Happy Monday! I don’t know about the weather where everyone is, but here in Texas, it’s triple digits this week. Very early for those kinds of temps. Here’s today’s inspiring quote. I love it!

Today’s meditation is effective and short. Enjoy!

I found myself drawn back to the Runes for this week’s reading. Here’s what I got.

Jera, in the first position, is the rune of harvest. It signifies that each season has a purpose, so it reminds us that attainment of goals often takes time. A seed planted in the spring must be given time to grow. And it can only be harvested at the proper time. Jera indicates that your efforts will be successful. If you have been dealing with adversity and obstacles, Jera is a welcome sign that troubles are receding. (Always good news, right?) In addition, Jera symbolizes the union of opposites, such as dawn and dusk and the liminal timelines between seasons. You are advised to acknowledge any adversity you are or have been experiencing will ultimately contribute to your growth. You are who you are because of the lessons life has taught you.

Hagalaz in the second position can indicate temporary delays that are beyond your control, such as the forces of nature or other circumstances that you cannot change. A good example that is relatable in the present day is computer issues. And with Mercury in retrograde, it is not uncommon for electronics to fail or to “act up.” However, these are temporary, and eventually, everything gets ironed out.

In the third position, Elhaz is the rune of defense and protection. It indicates you are safe from danger and have no need to fear. However, you are warned not to take this protection for granted. We still must do our due diligence and remain alert, clear-minded, and in touch with our intuition. By listening to our higher guidance, we will know which moves to make to stay out of harm’s way. Additionally, Elhaz may refer to an upcoming opportunity or quest. Usually, this involves one or more other people. As long as your intuition agrees, you are encouraged to go for it.

MY TAKEAWAY:

If you have been dealing with adversity or obstacles, take comfort in knowing the situation is indeed temporary and you are protected.

On a personal note, I have certainly been dealing with several issues that could be considered adversity or obstacles. When I made my trip to Missouri, I booked hotels through Travelocity. It seemed an easy way to do it all. However, when we arrived in Oklahoma the first night, the motel I had booked at said they had no rooms. Long story short, they charged me for the room, and I am fighting for a refund. This reading encourages me that it will come to a satisfactory conclusion. Lesson learned. Never book through a third party! I am involved in another difficult situation beyond my control. My publisher experienced a devastating hack of their website a few weeks ago, and email communication has been down since the hack. I am hoping for a resolution to that one as well.

Your turn!

I am thinking I may have drawn this Dragon Card before, but if so, it has turned up again. It’s gorgeous!!

  1. What an interesting reading, Jan! I’m so sorry you’ve been dealing with such obstacles. I’ve only dealt with Expedia. Thankfully, I’ve never had issues. I hope yours are resolved very soon!
At first, I wasn’t sure how your reading applies to me. But I’m now thinking about my (official) new role as a stepmother and my part of coparenting. I feel like it’s taking a lot of growth on my part and a willing to learn. And, too, I feel like I’m in this constant state of playing catchup which means other areas of my life, like writing and blogging, are on hold. But I’m hopeful that things will return to a much better routine soon.

    1. Life is full of challenges, and stepping into a parenting role is big. I know you will do amazing, Mar, because you have so much love inside of you. Add the willingness to learn and grow and it’s a formula for success. I wish you the very best! Thank you for stopping by!

  2. If you did my reading, I suspect I would be earth and water. And the life issues–how awful. I do try to go direct with all my reservations. I had an airline cx my flight once, made through a 3rd party. That can ruin a trip. I’m sure your publisher will resolve their problems. I hope nothing was imminently in the works for you?

    1. I suspect you would be correct, Jacqui. You seem to be a very grounded person, and that is definitely earth and water. From now on, I will most certainly go direct with any reservations! Lesson learned. Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Hi Jan, life is full of these sort of irritations. There are so many that I have learned to not ‘sweat the small stuff’. I hope it all resolves quickly for you.

The Dragon Card seems essential to all of us since life is all about making growth.

I just returned from a two-week vacation today, Jan, and had a similar experience with a hotel and third-party reservations. My situation was that the hotel had no Internet for two weeks (I was there for four of those days.) One day I was out and about and came back to the hotel to take a shower, only to find there was no water. This was a highly rated hotel chain which has usually been good to me, but the whole stay was disappointing. When I asked for a partial refund, their answer (still a poor answer, in my opinion) was they couldn’t because it was through a third party.

    1. Exactly, Pete. I will not book through a third party again. I’ll go directly to the hotels. Sorry to hear about your situation. Things in this world are askew, to put it mildly. Thank you for stopping by!

  5. The reading brings a lot of calm to my mind. Of course, it fits your personal situation perfectly and I hope that you get your money back soon, Jan.

  6. I like this reading – and always adore the dragons. Sorry to hear about your hotel issues, Jan! You think you’re doing things right planning ahead, and then stuff like this happens. Hope your publisher get things worked out.

I love this reading snd the promise of things working out in the end. Sorry to hear about your room issues on your trip and what happened to your publisher. Beautiful dragon card too!

    1. It always helps to have hope for resolution, doesn’t it, Denise? I loved the dragon card too. In fact, I love them all. 🙂 Thank you for visiting!

Wonderful reading, Jan. Adversity seems to plague many these days, but you have a wonderfully positive way of turning everything around for the good. Thank you for sharing with us and offering blessed guidance. 💗

    1. It is my goal in life to turn everything around to a positive, even in a difficult situation. I haven’t always been successful, but I do try. Thank you, dear Gwen, for stopping by and leaving a comment!

  9. Sorry to hear about your hotel issue. As you know, I take long road trips in the summers. We always book our hotels through Hotels.com and have only had an issue once. Luckily, the website was quick to refund us. I have no doubt that you will get your money back. It just sucks that it put a damper, however slight, on your vacation. And I’m sure your publisher will work out their issue as well. Hacks are nasty, though, so you may need a few meditations in the meantime. 😉

I love that dragon card and the reading. Life seems fairly smooth for me right now, but I’ll pocket that reading for when I need that advice. Thanks, Jan! 🙂

    1. Ah yes! Meditations always help, anytime! It’s good that you haven’t had any issues with Hotels.com. I most certainly will never use Travelocity again. I am hoping the publisher can eventually resolve the email issues. In the meantime, I am staying positive and working on my WIP. I’m glad you enjoyed the post, and yes, save it for the day when you need it. Glad things are going smoothly for you right now! Enjoy the respite!

  10. I like your take on the reading. I’m sure we could all use a turn of fortune toward the positive.

Sorry about the hotel and the email issues. I hope you get it all resolved soon. (And with respect to your hotel issue, to your benefit. If it were me, I’d complain to my credit card in addition to Travelocity. They should dispute the charge for you. Best wishes!)

    1. That’s true, Staci. I didn’t think about going at the Travelocity issue from the direction of the credit card. I will do that today. Thank you for that suggestion!! Here’s to a turn of fortune for all of us! Hugs!

  11. So sorry to hear about your recent challenges, Jan. Since I’ve suffered several too, I’m taking this as a “cue” to slow down and see what unfurls. I love the inspirational quote for today. Sending positive energy and thoughts your way. 🙂

    1. So true, Mary. Are you also dealing with email issues coming from Wild Rose? Or is it just me? I keep asking, but no one answers that question. I am reevaluating the way I spend my time daily and am putting writing first and everything else second. If I don’t, I’ll never finish my current WIP. Thank you for stopping by! Hugs!

      1. I’m not experiencing issues with sending emails to TWRP. I just sent you a private email. Hugs back!

  12. That dragon card is gorgeous! So sorry for your woes, Jan, and hope you get sorted soon. I’ve had a bit of relapse this weekend, but I think the steroids are having to cover extra bases with the huge pollen counts, let alone my naughty immune system, lols. Lots of good stuff happening too, with my placing first in a story competition and publishing a book of poetry soon!
    Sending hugs 💕🙂

    1. Your comment just reminds me that life is never all good or all bad. It’s a mixture of blessings and challenges. Thank you so much for sharing your insight, and a big congratulations on your new poetry book! I look forward to diving into it! Hang in there, and I pray that you get back on track physically. Hugs!

  13. Thanks for sharing, Jan! I’m sorry to hear about your recent challenges. I hope everything works out for you. I recently lost my editor who I’ve worked with on my last four books. I loved working with her. I needed this today!

    1. It seems we are all going through struggles right now, Jill, from finding supplies on empty shelves to affording gas in our cars. Then add on top of that, individual issues like yours make it all hard. But I do believe these are all temporary, as the reading suggests. Thank you for stopping by!

  14. That’s terrible about your publisher! I hope they get the issues resolved soon. I had a bit of adversity with my website this weekend. Kept getting an error message when trying to save pages. Fortunately, my host was quick to respond and correct the problem.

    Love that dragon card!

    1. Oh good, Joan. That’s when you know you have a good host. Glad you enjoyed today’s post and I agree, the dragon card is amazing! I appreciate you stopping by!
