Did you know I wrote a Christmas story once upon a time? I published Mountain Laurel Christmas in 2021, so to help celebrate the holiday season, I have put it on sale for the next seven days. It’s a short read, and reviewers say they find the story heartwarming and entertaining. They praise the writing quality as well-written and talented. The pacing is described as fast and touching, with an end that is precious and touching.
I’d love it if you’d pick it up.
To add to the celebration here’s a shiny new book trailer video.
My blogging and visiting other blogs will be sporadic throughout the rest of the month, but I will pop on when I can.
I am back to working on A Bold Bargain, and loving the direction this story is going. I will publish it in 2025.
Here’s a brief excerpt:
A short time later, inside the Dadeville General Store, Jack warmed up next to the pot-bellied stove while the pup snoozed on the floor.
“That’s a fine dog you’ve got there, Jack.” Old man Turnbow passed Jack a steaming cup of coffee.
“Found him in the river, nearly drowned.” He took a sip of the warm brew. “Looks to be part wolf, but he’s attached himself to me. Couldn’t leave him.”
The older man grinned, showing missing teeth. “Never could turn away a stray animal myself. The missus finally learned to accept it. Even had a pet raccoon once.”
The pup raised his head and whined.
“I swear this dog acts like he understands words. He’s not afraid of people, so that tells me he’s been treated kindly.” Jack leaned against the nearby counter.
This story is going to be very different from anything I’ve written and I love that!
It’s also the time of year when I start to put together my Top Ten List of best books I’ve read for 2024. As always, it’s going to be hard to pick just ten. There are SO many good stories out there! What a joy it is to discover new ones.
I hope everyone is enjoying the music from the holiday season. I love Christmas carols and miss them through the year, so I’ll leave you with this one just because it makes me smile.
I hope you have a good week ahead!
Not sure how I missed this one, Jan, but I got my copy – thanks!
Whoo hoo! Thank you!
I think, Christmas stories are simply different. I never wrote a novel book (in fact I did but never published it) but I wrote a Christmas story and won a prize with it.
How awesome, Erika. I agree that Christmas stories are a bit different. Thank you for visiting today!
My absolute pleasure, Jan. I hope I can be over a bit more.
