Welcome back to another TAROT TUESDAY card reading!
If you are just joining me, let me explain the inspiration to begin these posts. In Texas, and all across the country, Taco Tuesday is a popular day when Tacos are usually 99 cents. So, I had the inspiration, or Angel nudge as I like to think of it, to create a Tarot Tuesday. Each Tuesday I will post a different Tarot card and give its meaning. I pray and ask for the right card that will bring a message to someone in need.
We’ve had a lot of Wands popping up lately. So, I wanted to take another look at what the Wands represent in the Tarot deck.
Wands are associated with primal energy, spirituality, inspiration, determination, strength, intuition, creativity, ambition and expansion, original thought and the seeds through which life springs forth.
The Suit of Wands is associated with the element of Fire. Fire is hot, wild, unpredictable, and energetic (how appropriate for the month of August in the fire sign of Leo). It can be creative in helping us to cook food or build tools, or it can be destructive, like a devastating bush fire or house fire.
Fire is symbolic of passion, energy, enthusiasm, and sexuality. It is a masculine element and reflects the drive and willpower of the masculine energy.
Today we have the NINE OF WANDS!
That’s a lot of energy with the number nine. This card represents resilience, courage, persistence, test of faith, and boundaries.
The Nine of Wands shows an injured man, clutching one wand, while he looks over his shoulder towards the eight wands that loom over him. He appears weary and worn, as though he has already been through a battle and now must face additional challenges with the presence of these eight wands. As a Nine, though, this is his final challenge before reaching his goal; he must endure this last test of his strength and character before reaching the finish line. (Good news, right?)
Even in the face of adversity, you stand tall and strong. You may be on the edge of exhaustion, but you are resilient, persistent, and ready to do what it takes to get to the finish line.
This card may also come when you feel battered and bruised, having endured significant challenges and struggles along your path. Just when you think you are making progress, you suffer another setback. The Nine of Wands asks you to trust that this is merely a test of your ‘grit’ and resilience, and know that you have the inner resources necessary to overcome any difficulty you encounter, even though it may seem impossible at the time. See this Nine as an assurance that you will eventually prosper if you maintain your position. And, if you do not succeed at first, then try again. Keep pushing – you are so close to the finish line.
You have people who support you. The Nine of Wands invites you to find your cheerleaders and personal bodyguards, those who will protect you from the ongoing challenges and cheer you on to the finish line.
Finally, the advice of the Nine of Wands is to establish your boundaries and fiercely protect those lines. If you allowed others to stand in your way or deplete your energy, it is likely that you have not asserted yourself effectively with those people to protect yourself. Get clear on what you need in this situation to be successful and reach your goals, and then communicate those needs to others.
WOW!! I don’t know about you, but all of that resonates with me! Thoughts?
Thank you for joining me! See you next Tuesday for another inspiring message from the Universe via the Tarot Cards!
As always, I use the Rider-Waite Radiance deck and BiddyTarot.com for interpretations.
It resonates with me too, Jan! That’s great advice at the end. Great post! Thank you! 😀 xo
Thank you for stopping by, Vashti! I’m so happy you enjoyed the post! Hugs!
This really hits home, Jan.
Wonderful, Rob! It did for me too!
I wonder if we’re having some kind of shared experience that would make a tarot reading more commonly applicable than it might other wise be?
Rob, the truth is that we are all in this together. The separateness we see is the illusion we create in order to live these human lives. We are joined together by invisible threads and I think that’s why something like this can resonate with so many. I don’t want to get too deep here, but some believe we also live in parallel Universes. I don’t know about that, but I do feel the connectedness of the essence of life that resides in each of us.
❤(((Hugs))) right back atcha, Jan. Now I’m off to do a little mountain climbing.😊
Like so many of our friends, this post hits me right where I live at the moment. I’m an Aries and Fire is comfortingly familiar. These mountains we climb as humans are often treacherous, ah, but, THAT view from the summit makes the journey so very worthwhile. Thanks for a great post as always, my friend. ❤
Beautiful, Soooz! That is such a visual – the view from the summit once we finally arrive. And then as life will do, we get to start all over at the bottom and do it again, only differently. Once we reach one summit, it’s done. Thank you for the lovely comment, my friend! Warm hugs!
Yes, it totally resonates with me too. Such a confirming card and I actually feel as if this ninth wand was almost with the other eight ones. Truly feeling lifted above limiting energies and finding my way back on my own road – mentally and by my actions. Awesome card!
How wonderful, Erika! Your comment gave me a shiver. You are SO right when you say you are finding your way back on your own road mentally and by your actions. We can wish for something until we turn blue in the face, but until we take steps to make it happen, it’s nothing more than an empty wish. We have to do the work. But, we have a team in place to help us when we put that foot forward! Thank you so much for your comment. Hugs!
Absolutely, Jan. Not everything just falls into our laps (otherwise we would never develop) and we need to change something if we are not happy with the situation we are in. In relation to the wands, we need to take that walking stick and start that journey. I love how the cards confirm the point we are standing at in the moment we are looking at the cards. Amazing every time again!
Thank you, Jan, I love your Tarot posts!
This is the card one needs when near the end of a challenge. Has a promise of finally getting through it. Thanks, Jan
Exactly, John! The battle is almost won and the finish line is in sight!
🤸🏻♂️
My very first thought seeing what the card was, before I read further, wow that’s the card. So that was a strange first reaction for me. Reading what it was made a lot of sense. Kind of gave me a chill how much it connected with me so directly. Thanks, Jan.
Your comment made me realize why I was inspired to do this, Denise! Thank you SO much and I am thrilled that it resonated with you on such a deep level. Thank you so much for stopping by! Big hugs!
As a card novice, I find these posts so informative. You really explain them well. I’m an Aries (fire sign), so I can relate to this one.
Wonderful to hear, Staci. I am so glad you are enjoying the posts. Yes, as fire signs this card really resonates.
I’m just in a different mindset today. I see, “Behold my wands, on clearance for Labor Day.”
Lol! Craig Boyack now offers comic relief! 😄
I’ve been hanging out with John Howell too much.
Another informative post, Jan. You always have such in depth explanation for each card and how they relate to everyday life. Well done!
Thank you for stopping by, Mae. I am happy you are enjoying the posts! It never hurts to get a different perspective on life. Often we get stuck in the “can’t see the forest for the trees” syndrome. Have an awesome day!!!
Wishing you an awesome day too, Jan!
