Welcome to another Tarot Tuesday!
If you are just joining me, let me explain the inspiration to begin these posts. In Texas, and all across the country, Taco Tuesday is a popular day when Tacos are usually 99 cents. So, I had the inspiration, or Angel nudge as I like to think of it, to create a Tarot Tuesday. Each Tuesday I will post a different Tarot card and give its meaning. I pray and ask for the right card that will bring a universal message.
I created a short video to demonstrate how I pull the card for the posts. If you’re interested, here’s a LINK.
After last week’s card, I was hoping for a more upbeat message to share today, but that wasn’t to be. Today I pulled the Nine of Swords.
Keywords for Nine of Swords: Anxiety, worry, fear, depression, and nightmares.
The Nine of Swords suggests that dark thoughts and disturbing feelings are weighing you down (and keeping you up at night). You are worrying excessively about a situation, and your negative thoughts are getting the better of you, leaving you stressed and anxious. The more you associate with your fears, the more they will rule your life.
Be careful because the fear and worry in the Nine of Swords can become a self-fulfilling prophecy. As you obsess over what may go wrong, you are more likely to manifest your worst-case scenario because you are inadvertently acting in ways that support your negative thoughts. When you are repeating negative thoughts in your mind, you run the risk of manifesting them in your life. So, the Nine of Swords asks you to break the cycle. Every time a negative emotion comes up, replace it with a positive one instead.
The Nine of Swords reminds you that you may make things worse for yourself by over-thinking or obsessing over the worst-case scenarios. It is time to examine your situation from a new perspective. Instead of looking for evidence of what is going wrong, put your attention on what is going right. Take a deep breath and realize that life is not as dreadful as it seems and that the more you worry, the more harm you are doing to yourself.
The Nine of Swords often crops up when worry, despair, and anxiety are quite literally keeping you up at night. You may not be sleeping well, or you are experiencing frequent nightmares. Your constant thoughts are preventing you from resting.
It may be time to reach out for help. You don’t need to do this alone – enlist the support of others to help you get through this dark period of your life. Others will help you to see the light at the end of the tunnel and lead you towards a solution or a sense of peace despite your troubles. You are struggling to look at your situation clearly, as you are plagued by negative thoughts, so having an objective, third-party perspective will help you find your way out.
Due to the world-wide COVID-19 crisis, this card is self-explanatory. The worry and anxiety level is high everywhere. Here’s something to remember. We cannot control what goes on around us. But, we can control our reaction to it. If we choose to stay positive and look for good things, we’ll find them. It’s our choice. I want to take a minute to remind everyone that this is a safe place to share your thoughts and feelings. You are not alone, so let us hear from you.
Thank you for joining me! See you next Tuesday for another inspiring message from the Universe via the Tarot Cards!
As always, I use the Rider-Waite Radiance deck and BiddyTarot.com for interpretations.
This card was bound to show up. We’re living in a time that’s surreal in its level of horror. The number of confirmed cases and deaths in south Florida keep rising. It’s nerve-racking, but like you said, we have to wake up every morning and choose to be positive no matter what comes. We’re all in this together. <3
That is the only attitude I can have, Vashti. If I give in to the depression and hopelessness, it will swallow me. Thank yo u so much for commenting. Hugs (virtual of course) 😍
Not surprising this card comes up Jan, that’s the reality for many. But yes, we mustn’t allow ourselves to fall to the dark side of the ‘what will be’, but focus on good survival measures, and getting through day by day. We are being tested now while Mother Nature claims back her world that has been abused. Lots of lessons. Stay safe <3
I couldn’t agree more, Debby. Lots of lessons! Thank you for stopping by and you stay safe as well!
Thanks. <3
An interesting read, Jan. Your thoughts are correct although it is hard not to worry about the impact of all of this on our lives going forward.
I completely agree, Robbie. Worry solves nothing and only makes us more anxious. Our time and energy can be better spent for the future when this horrible virus is eradicated. How will we live our lives then? I hope in more harmony with each other and less division and hatred! Thanks so much for stopping by!
Right on, Jan! We’re in this together and here to support one another!
Definitely, Bette! Thank you for stopping by!
Jan, did you change your theme? I love this one. Thanks for the pep talk. I so needed to hear this. Hugs and love. Stay safe, my friend. <3
Hi, Colleen. I decided to take a picture of my own personal altar rather than using an image from the internet. I like it better as it is exactly where I meditate and pull cards. I’m so glad you stopped by and glad you found some inspiration from the post! You stay safe and well, too! Hugs!
I love that, Jan! You’re so inspiring! Stay safe. ❤️❤️❤️
I have been more vocal about my anxiety with everything that is going on, and I’m blessed to have close friends and family who are making a point to stay in touch with me, which helps. My colleagues and I created a WhatsApp group where we post funny memes and videos to remind each other of the importance of laughter and community during this time. That also helps. I’ve also created a schedule for each day to get me up and moving so that I’m not sitting all day. And I’m focusing on reaching self-created goals (sleep well, eat well, write well, exercise with purpose) so that I have things to work toward and to celebrate. I’m doing everything in my power to take the power away from my anxiety and give it to the positive energy in me. 😊
Wow, Yvette! My hat is off to you, my friend. You are setting a great example that we could all take inspiration from! But you are doing exactly what you should be. Staying busy is a great way to ward off loneliness and anxiety. Thank you so much for your awesome comment! You go, girl!
We are all here with this card. I’ve been regrouping and trying to find that silver lining when it became too real for me. Stay safe Jan!
I completely understand, Denise. It is becoming too real for so many. You are in my thoughts and prayers! I’m sending you virtual hugs!
Definitely a universally relevant card this week Jan.. if not for ourselves, for family and friends at a distance. Hopefully a more positive one next week..hugsx
I am hoping so, Sally. We could all use some good news! Thanks for stopping by!
I’m not a bit surprised at this card. This reflects the situation with the entire world. It’s very difficult to see the positives when so many are sick and dying. My heart is hurting and I long for a human touch, a hug, any touch, with all my being that lets me know that I matter to someone. We’re so isolated and they’ve cracked down on us here even more. And now we have another month of this. Or longer. Lord only knows. When every day is exactly the same, it’s hard to find joy. And then you have rent and bills coming in that you can’t pay. I find no peace in that. Sorry, sister. It’s the way I feel.
I totally understand. So many are not only facing the devastating illness but as you said, rent and bills coming in that can’t be paid. There is no end in sight and that too is discouraging. All we can do is keep putting one foot in front of the other and get lost in reading or telling stories. Maybe that’s called burying our heads in the sand, but it’s an escape from something we can do nothing about but endure. I love you! Stay safe and well. Thank you for stopping by.
This card shows how we are hurting ourselves with negative thoughts and how it worsens every situation.
So true, Erika. We are each responsible for our thoughts and one thought at a time, we can change them from negative to positive. There are still many good and wonderful things to be thankful for. Those are what I am focusing on. Thank you for stopping by!
It is not easy but it is possible to shift our thoughts and with some practice it becomes a reflex and the reflex a natural behavior. We can change our thinking pattern and reprogram our belief system. It is amazing to experience that we are the masters of our thoughts! Thank you for your inspiring post and motivating tarot post, Jan!
Another spot-on tarot reading. Everywhere you turn, there’s this tension because of what we’re all going thru. And yes, stress and anxiety are playing a big part in our daily lives right now. But as you’ve said, Jan, we really need to focus on the positive side of things. Stay safe, friend. ❤
One thing for sure, Mar, is that we are not alone in this crisis. It is affecting everyone. I can only hope that we can find a common ground to come together and begin to heal the division we’ve suffered over the past couple of years. That would be a positive outcome. Thanks so much for stopping by. You stay safe too! Hugs (virtual, of course) 🙂
I so agree, Jan. I feel like a lot of communities have truly shined during this craziness. Now if the rest would only follow suit.
Reblogged this on GrannyMoon's Morning Feast.
Thank you for the reblog, Granny Moon!

It doesn’t surprise me that this card came up, Jan. In fact, with all the concerns in the world, I would be surprised to see an upbeat card. This card does give us all a moment to think that no matter how alone we think we are with anxious feelings, we are not. A good reminder to keep the thoughts on the positive side and turn away from the worry. Stay well, Jan.
I’m doing my best, John. Yes, I agree. It does give us pause and to know we are not alone in this chaos. Any little glimmer of positiveness that shows up, I’m grabbing onto it! You and your family stay well also! Thank you for stopping by!
You as well, Jan
Yup, that’s me right now.
We’re all in the same boat, Craig. Thanks for commenting!
