Happy Monday, friends! February is almost gone. While it’s a short month, it seems to have flown by faster than ever. Doesn’t this image look like a great place to meander?
While it seems to be my new normal state of existence, this week was super busy. Early in the week, I had an appointment with the dealership where I bought my car for a class on all the buttons and options available to me on this vehicle. I had no idea I had a heated steering wheel. 🙂 And I certainly did not know I could walk up to the back of the car with my hands full, kick out a foot just under the right bumper and the hatch would open. 🙂 I also learned I do not have a garage door opener button. How odd, right? With all the fancy stuff, there is no built-in garage door opener. Seriously, I am enjoying the car. I think I made a really good choice and it will serve me well.
I had the opportunity this week to do mini tarot readings at a bridal shower and I enjoyed it so much. I’m going to do a bit of local advertising and hopefully drum up some extra business doing private events like that. It was enjoyable. The messages everyone got seemed to be spot on and it was really well-received. So, I’m encouraged to pursue it more.
Both of my youngest grandchildren are now sick with the same thing I had. I hate that for them. It breaks my heart when they suffer. I’m hoping they kick it soon!
On the writing front, I finished my final read-through on all the short stories and poems for my upcoming new release. It’s now in the hands of the editor. I’ve chosen a publication date of 4-7-26 and will be putting up for pre-order soon.

I am SO excited to share some of my granddaughter’s poetry in this collection. Sydney, who is fourteen, has a unique ability to put emotions into words so vivid you can taste them. Her mother recently entered two of her poems in the Alliance for Young Artists and & Writers contest, and she won silver awards for both! I’m so proud of her and thrilled I can include some of her work in this new book. I’ve also included some of Rick’s earliest writings in this collection. I recently uncovered some things he wrote in the 60s and I love them! I’m getting anxious to release all of it!

I have decided to tackle filing my income tax return and with any luck, I won’t have to pay anything. I just want to get it over with and be done for another year. I hate it!
We entered the Chinese New Year on February 17th under the sign of the Fire Horse and I tell you, things have shifted. I feel like we are going to need to hang on for the ride!
The Year of the Fire Horse occurs once every 60 years. It combines the Horse sign with the Fire element, creating “double fire” energy. This is traditionally associated with intensity, passion, independence, boldness, and unpredictability.

The Fool is one of my favorite cards in the tarot deck. He is about to step off the edge of a cliff and doesn’t care. He feels safe and secure that in his blissful state everything will be okay. The Fool embarks on a new journey leaving the past behind, carrying with him only the lessons learned and a curiosity to begin again. Are we being called upon to do just that. To start a new adventure? To leave the past where it belongs, in the past? To carry forward lessons learned? Your intuition is always by your side, much like the little dog who walks with the Fool. Trust your inner guidance.
That’s it from me for now. Have a wonderful week ahead, and I wish you well in all your endeavors.

Happy 50th bday to your beautiful daughter, Jan! I’m not sure where this month went either. So happy your readings are going well and how fun to do that party. I love you are including family in our collection, that will make it all the more special to read. My blog is open for your release! I am wondering about the fire horse’s entry. Should be interesting. I am ready to step off that cliff and trust in what is to come. Xo
Thank you, Denise. I deeply appreciate your offer to open your blog to me for the new release. I am seeing signs of rapid movement since the entrance of the Fire Horse, Denise, so we shall see what comes about. I love every aspect of The Fool card. Sometimes we have to simply trust. I appreciate you stopping by!!
Hi Jan, Joy G. here. Love to read the words you write. And what an exquisite looking daughter you have. Not bad yourseld in that department !
Hi, Joy. Thank you SO much for your kind words!
Other than the grandies being sick, this is all good stuff, Jan. Congrats on the book getting polished up for release! That’s so sweet that your granddaughter has poems in it. <3 I’m looking forward to reading it. I’m glad the car is working out well (makes me wonder if I understand all the buttons on mine!). And I hope your beautiful daughter had a wonderful birthday. Here’s to a Fire Horse year. The Fool is the perfect card to go with it. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by, Diana. I’m so happy to include some of Sydney’s poems in the new book. I showed her the cover yesterday with her name on it and she smiled big. 🙂 Lol about the car. As long as you can operate it, none of the other stuff really matters. Take care and have a great week!
Great post, Jan! Congrats on the upcoming book! The cover is beautiful! I love the fool tarot card and look forward to new adventures.

Thank you for stopping by, Yvette. I’m glad you like the book cover and tarot card. Here’s to more adventures ahead!! Have a great week.
You made me laugh about your car. I didn’t know I had heated seats or steering wheel either until a friend asked me to turn them on because she was cold. Congratulations for almost getting your book ready to publish and what a great thing for your granddaughter. Your daughter is beautiful, Jan. I know the feeling, my son will be 42 next month and I can’t believe it. Enjoy your week.
Lol! I so relate, Carla, about the car stuff. It’s amazing what all they put on them these days. Thanks for the congratulations and the kind words. I appreciate you stopping by!
The new cars have lots of things the older cars don’t. My old pickup truck is about to trade-in point, and I think I’ll lease one instead of a purchase, because of my age. Doing tax returns always frustrates me because the system is so complicated to me. Have a good week.
Leasing a vehicle might be a good option for you, Tim. You will have to let us know what you decide. You are definitely right about the tax system. It’s a relief to have it done for sure!
Last year when I did the tax return, my wife said she was surprised that I did not cuss. 😀
Another writer in the family! Looking forward to reading Sydney’s poetry, Jan – and it releases on my oldest son’s birthday, so I consider that a good omen. That’s a fantastic idea about doing bridal shower readings.
Whoo hoo! I am thrilled to release the book on your son’s birthday, Teri and glad you are looking forward to reading the book. I will take that as a good omen. Thank you for stopping by!
I’m glad you could include some of your grandaughter’s poems in your short story collection. Best wishes on the book.
Me too, John. Thank you so much for visiting!
So much to celebrate, anticipate, and BE the BLISS about!
Yes!! I couldn’t agree more, Annette! Thank you for visiting. 💕
Hi Jan, a busy post. I’m glad things are going well for you with your car and card readings. A beautiful picture of your daughter 💚 and the new book is exciting. I have already made a big decision this month and I’m hoping the energy of the firehouse is with me to make this change effectively.
I will join you in that hope, Robbie. You’ll have to let us know how it goes. Change is sometimes not easy, but necessary. Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment!
Deva is such a sweet, kind-spirited girl who has both feet on the ground and a cool head. She was such a big help when Mom passed. I’m thrilled at the new direction her life seems to be taking. Hard to believe our kids are getting this old. Kevin will be 55 this year and Melinda 53. Crazy! How nice that your car place offered those lessons. I just had to figure things out for myself when I bought mine. That Fool card is interesting. Love you, Sister.
Thank you for stopping by, sister. Deva has always been grounded and had a cool head. I’m thrilled for her, too. She deserves all the happiness life can offer. It’s so hard to believe all our kids are getting this old. Seriously! Kevin will be able to collect Social Security before long. 🙂 Sorry you had to figure your care out on your own. It certainly helped to have things shown to me. I learn better that way. I love The Fool card! It’s so carefree and trusting. I hope you have a great day. Love you so much!
Congratulations on your upcoming release! I’m looking forward to reading it.
Thank you, Pat!
Your daughter is so beautiful! That’s so cool about your granddaughter, too.
Thank you so much, Kymber!!
I just sold my pickup truck over the weekend and plan to get either a new or newer used hybrid. I’m one of those people who thoroughly researches before buying, so it probably won’t happen right away. Those features you mentioned are available in lots of newer vehicles, but the technology keeps improving all the time.
Your daughter looks beautiful. I’m sure both you and your granddaughter are proud to be in the same book. I would love to do that someday with our one and only grandchild.
I love that you take your time to research, Pete. You’ll have to let us know what vehicle you decide on. 🙂 You are so right about technology improving all the time. It’s a struggle to keep up. Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving a comment. I hope you get to collaborate with your grandchild on a story at some point. It’s such a special thing!
New cars and their gadgets. Amazing. My 6-year-old car has those whistles you explained so they should be sturdy and not break on you. Son is buying a Tesla with the auto-drive package. I can’t wait to try that out.
Congrats on the poetry book!
Good to hear that after six years, the gadgets on your car are still working, Jacqui! My daughter and son-in-law have now owned two Teslas and they have loved them. This year, my daughter bought a Rivian, but my s-i-l kept the Tesla. Yep. It will be fun to drive! Thank you for stopping by!!
Love the quote and today’s tarot card. Good luck with getting more private readings, it sounds like a fun endeavor.
Thank you, Jeanne. I’m so glad you enjoyed the quote and card! I appreciate you stopping by and leaving a comment.
I’m glad you’re discovering the cool features in your car. How did your daughter get to be 50 without you growing older?
I ask myself that same question, Dan. She is an amazing person and a solid rock of our family. Thank you for visiting. And, yes, it was fun discovering some of the cool features in the car.
Your granddaughter takes after you with her way with words. Well done, Sydney!! And your daughter looks just like you, gorgeous. My daughter turned 50 a year ago. That was a hard one to swallow as she’s my baby. My son was born the Year of the Fire Horse. There were certainly huge changes for me that year! But all good. Have a super week. xo
Thank you, Darlene. I am so proud of Sydney! I don’t think my daughter looks like me at all, but she is beautiful. It’s hard to swallow the fact that she’s turning fifty. I remember when I turned fifty and it seems like just yesterday. 🙂 Oh, wow! I an certainly understand huge changes for you the year your son was born. And now, here we are again. Have a great week ahead!
