#MondayMotivation – #Meditation – #RuneOracleCard

I love the quote from John Steinbeck this week. And the theme seems to be one of concentration and steadily working. I don’t know about you, but I have at least five to six things I am juggling at the same time and often have to fight the urge to jump from task to task.

I found this meditation to be energizing and uplifting. It is a great way to put all your chores in perspective and focus.

I was drawn back to my new Rune oracle cards for this week’s inspiration, and it is very fitting.

The keyword associated with this Rune is concentration. Sowelo is aligned with charisma and driving energy.

Everything can be achieved as long as you use the right tools and your awareness.

This card invites us to channel our forces and funnel them toward a single goal. Mind and heart must become allies because within their union lies true power. The card furthermore symbolizes a lucky moment. Now that events are favorable, we must not rest on our laurels but act with all our concentration.

The power of this rune helps to shed light on our wishes and focus our goals.

My Takeaway:

I loved the idea of the mind and heart becoming allies. There is great power in concentrated focus that ultimately leads to a single goal. In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to get caught up in the juggling act. This is a fabulous reminder.

I keep being amazed by the gorgeous Dragon cards. This one goes with the theme for the week.

Black Dragon From Saturn.
Brings you wisdom through spiritual discipline. Concentrate. Focus on your ultimate vision. Congratulate yourself - you have passed a test!

That’s it for this week. Keep your focus and stay steady!

  1. My world has been extremely fast-paced lately. I have too much to do and not enough time to do it. I’m focusing on one thing at a time, but that means some things just don’t get done. Hopefully, with the return of school, I can create a routine that allows me to fit everything in with purpose and calm. Great reading, Jan! 🙂

    1. It seems we are all pretty much in the same boat, Yvette. And you’re right. When we focus on one task at a time, maybe they all don’t get done. But the world doesn’t stop turning. At least that’s what I tell myself. I am also looking forward to the return of school and a routine. The summer has been helter-skelter with the grandkids. Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Sorry to be so absent, Jan. I’ve had a nasty eye strain. So I have to blow up the screen size so large that I can barely navigate the post (because all the other stuff is so much bigger). My fault, not yours. I love the quote. Stay safe and well. Hugs on the wing.

    1. I’m so sorry to hear of your eye issue, Teagan. Take it easy for a little bit. Thank you for stopping by. I’m glad you enjoyed the quote!

  3. Hi Jan–Thank you for the inspiration this week. I also find myself juggling different activities and having to pull back and focus on getting a project done. I love the quote that the heart and mind can be allies!

  4. I tend to have several balls in the air at the same time. However, to accomplish anything, I know that I must concentrate on one thing and getting it to completion before grabbing the next ball in the air. Most of us multi-task, but it isn’t easy to do things well when you work on several items concurrently.

    Great post, Jan.

    1. That is so true, Michele. I have difficulty focusing on one task when another is hanging over my head. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

Steinbeck had it right; it really is that basic. I use the same philosophy when I dread my time at the gym—one foot in front of the other.

  6. I really needed this one, Jan. Feel like I’ve been scattered all day and barely got anything accomplished. Have a great week!

    1. I have many days like that, Teri. This served as a great reminder. Thank you for stopping by, and here’s to a wonderful week ahead!

  7. Heart and mind being allies — wonderful. Thank you, Jan, for this reminder. ❤️

  8. A wonderful Steinbeck quote and that’s the way I’m focusing today, Jan, as I get back into the swing of things – one task at a time. Thanks for the lovely card and the timely wisdom. <3 <3

    1. I love your comment, Diana. One task at a time is the only way to accomplish things. I appreciate you taking the time to visit and leave a comment!

      1. I know lots of people who can juggle multiple projects (like Craig), but that’s not me. I get way too frazzled. It’s baffling, but sometimes by slowing down we get more done. 😀

  9. Whatever you do, keep focused. Yes, that speaks to me totally. Whether you actually like what you do or not, if you keep focused, the results are better, and you will be more content with them. Great inspiration for today, Jan. Thank you!

    1. So true, Erika. We don’t always have to like what we are doing, but focus can certainly make it go smoother. Thank you for stopping by. I’m so glad you enjoyed the post.

I love the idea of the heart and mind being friends and working together. Mine always seem to be at odds.

  11. As is often the case with your readings, Jan, I feel like this one spoke to me. I love the combining of mind & heart. The older I’ve grown, the more importance I see in how these two work together. Or should. I’m at a pivotal point in my life where I’m trying to decide what’s best for me, in terms of my career & what I’m doing with my life. The many questions of purpose and passion. And what the heck am I even doing? So thank you for sharing this. I do feel like I’m on the right track and hope the path continues to clear.

    1. Lol, Mar. Your question, “What the heck am I even doing?” made me chuckle. I ask myself that often. It’s hard to know all the answers, but if we follow the combination of mind and heart, I think we will be led in the right direction. I’m happy you stopped by and glad you enjoyed the post! Hugs!

As interesting as always, Jan. Sometimes due to circumstances we can’t always focus on one thing but I love it when I can. Glad you’re back home. Love you, sister.

    1. That is so true. It’s hard to focus on one thing at a time when there are tons of obligations grabbing at you. Thank you for stopping by. I’m glad to be home, too!

    1. Oh, Sally, how I wish I could send you some of this sunshine, and you could send us some rain. That would be a perfect balance. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

  13. Ooo…I love this message, Jan. After taking a week off, I’m back to staying focused (I believe I was a circus juggler in my previous life the way I multi-task) Have a lovely week!

    1. I certainly relate to the circus juggler comment, Mary. 🙂 But for me, it’s this life. I’m glad you enjoyed your week away. Now it’s back to work. Hear the whip cracking? 🙂 Thanks for commenting today!

  14. A great message. I feel the same – when the heart and mind work together, great things can be achieved. And I love the dragon 🐉❤️

  15. That’s a great quote by Steinbeck. Concentrated focus is something I’ve been struggling with, so your timing is perfect, Jan. Thanks for sharing!

  16. I love this quote Jan and it is something I need to heed. As I am the same as you leaping from one item I’m juggling to the next.My mind is in a whirl and I must stick to one thing at a time. Thanks for this reminder. Have a great week. Not sure if I told you my blog site details, which are joymlilleyauthor.wordpress.com

    1. Hi, Joy. I’m glad you enjoyed the quote, and yes, it served as a good reminder to me as well to stay focused on one thing at a time. And yes, you shared your blog here twice before. Thank you for stopping by!
