This month is already flying by as we hit the halfway mark. I know of no way to slow time down. My mom used to say the older she got, the faster time went. I am starting to believe it.
I found this meditation with wonderful affirmations.
And now for the message from the Tarot for our week.
When the Eight of Cups shows up in a Tarot reading, you may feel compelled to walk away from a situation. It suggests you sense that something is missing, particularly on an emotional or spiritual level, and instead of waiting around for things to get better, you know you need to leave that unfulfilling situation. It may not make sense to others because, on the face, it looks as if you have everything you had wished for β but, deep down, you know itβs not serving your Highest Good, and itβs time for you to let it go and move on. The Eight of Cups invites you to ask yourself what brings you joy, contentment, and fulfillment on a deeper level. Without it, you might pursue goals that fail to give you the satisfaction youβre seeking.
The Nine of Pentacles indicates financial independence or basking in the fruits of your labors. You’ve worked hard, and now is the time to enjoy the rewards. Thanks to your independent efforts, self-confidence, and discipline, you attained a well-deserved success and created a stable foundation for your life. You have achieved so much, and while you may not be at the finish line just yet, this is your opportunity to acknowledge your achievements and re-energize yourself for the final phase.
The Sun card is fitting for the hot summer month of August. It represents success, radiance, and abundance. The Sun gives you strength and tells you that no matter where you go or what you do, your positive and radiant energy will follow you and bring you happiness and joy. If you are going through a difficult time, The Sun brings you the message you have been waiting for: that things will get better, a lot better! Through the challenges along your path, you discovered who you are and why youβre here. The Sun connects you to your power base β not fear-driven, egotistical power, but the abundant, inner energy radiating through you right now. Youβll sense it in your Solar Plexus chakra, calling you to express yourself authentically and be fully present in the world around you.
MY TAKEAWAY:
There are times in life when we have to turn our backs on a situation that no longer serves us. It could be something small, like a craving for unhealthy foods, or it could be larger and on a more emotional level. But the cards following indicate joy, abundance, and success is to be had by taking the initiative to walk away and move toward the joyous energy of the sun!
This is a card I don’t think I’ve ever drawn before, but how amazing that it follows the Sun card!
What a beautiful reading, Jan. Thank you for sharing and giving us something to think about this week.
My pleasure, Mar! Thank you for visiting!

Walking away from something isn’t always easy. But it can be rewarding if you. Nice post, Jan.
Not only is it not easy, but it’s also downright hard, Michele. Thank you for leaving a comment. I’m glad you enjoyed the post.
Learning to walk away from people and situations that are consistently dysfunctional doesn’t make us uncaring. Why put energy into something that’s not going anywhere?
I’m also in agreement with your thoughts about time. My wife and I have said the same thing about it seemingly going faster. That makes me want to respect and value the time that we have left.
Thank you for your wonderful comment, Pete. You are so right about putting our energy into something that drains us and doesn’t give back. Life’s too short for that. Respecting the time we have is such a powerful and rewarding effort. I love your view, sir!!
Thank you, Jan, for sharing your Tarot reading! Sometimes it is difficult to turn your back on what no longer makes sense to you, but it is good advice. I’ll work on moving forward with the radiance of the sun.
It’s my pleasure to share, Linnea. I apologize for not responding sooner. I found your wonderful comment in my Spam. I don’t know why that keeps happening. Anyway, thank you for visiting and leaving this comment. Forward with the radiance of the sun! Yes!!
Iβm glad you found my comment. For some reason, my comments often go to SPAM. Ugh!
Great reading and meditation, Jan. All made sense to me. Xo
I love it when it makes sense, Denise. It certainly did for me, and I welcome the abundance and the sun! Thank you for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful week.

This is a really hopeful reading for me, Jan. I woke up this morning feeling like something ended with this new book release today so this is perfect. I pray this experiment in self-publishing will pay off. I guess we’ll see. It was really nice to see the Sun card. Have a good day, Sister. Onward and upward! This is not the time to stop. Love you.
If this reading is any indication, sister, your experiment with self-publishing will bring you some rewards. And I agree, it was really uplifting to see the Sun card. Thank you for stopping by! Happy release day!! Love you!
A fabulous message for this week–the middle of August. Have a great week, Jan! π
Thank you, Mary. I’m always happy to see your smiling face pop up! Have a wonderful week ahead!
Soul wisdom. That sounds interesting.
Doesn’t it? Sometimes I wonder what that is, but I’m not sure it’s anything we can define in human terms. Thanks for stopping by, Jacqui!
I love that Mackay quote, Jan. How clever and true. And an interesting reading, Jan. Perhaps this is a time to let go of what isn’t working so that we can make room for more joy and abundance. Always so much wisdom in these. Thanks for sharing! <3
It is not easy to let go of what is familiar, but often it pays off. thanks so much for stopping by, Diana. I’m happy you enjoy these posts. I enjoy sharing them! Have a great week!
I can relate to that reading so much again. Or it does motivate and confirms me. Ending something that doesn’t fit anymore, turning around towards a new task that seems to be exactly what DOES fit now and therefore will bring success. Awesome!
It is a hopeful reading, Erika. As always, we have to do the work, but the Universe is on our side, waiting to reward our willingness to try. I’m glad you enjoyed the reading today! Have a great week!
The readings clarify the difference of how we see ourselves and how things may be with an objective view. They show the hidden message which we overlook or simply deny with our rational mind.
Thank you, Jan, you have a great one too!
Great message today, and awesome dragon card π
I love the dragon cards so much, Jeanne, and enjoy sharing them. I’m glad you enjoyed today’s post! Have a great week!
Iβll have to put some thought into this one. Feels like itβs intended for someone else right now.
Quite possibly, Craig. I never know. I just pull ’em and share ’em. π Thanks for stopping by!
I love the message of the cards drawn today and the dragon card! I definitely will listen to that meditation later. I need it! Lol! Great post, Jan! π
I’m glad you enjoyed the post, Yvette. The meditation has some really good affirmations, and I found it uplifting. I think you will, too. Have a great day and thank you for visiting!
