I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend. I enjoyed time away with my family and took the opportunity to disconnect from the outside world.
Here is a short guided meditation to help you focus.
The Tarot Cards called to me this week and here are the cards I drew.
The King of Cups represents mastery over the realms of emotion, creativity, and the unconscious. When this card turns up in a Tarot reading, you have gained control of your feelings and can accept them without allowing them to get the better of you. Even when life throws you a curveball, you can draw on your emotional maturity and stability to help you navigate these challenges. You don’t let things get to you, and you steer clear of the drama, instead choosing an emotionally balanced and calm approach. (Boy, can we all use a big dose of that right now!) As you interact with others, you may need to navigate their strong feelings and emotional triggers so you can create a sense of peace in your interactions.
We have had the 3 of Pentacles before and it represents teamwork or collaborations. Each person has an important role to play, and when they come together as a team, they can create something much more significant than if they were to undertake the project on their own. So, when the Three of Pentacles turns up in a Tarot reading, take it as a sign to collaborate with others, creating synergies to achieve big results. As you implement your plans, you will realize that you have the skills, capabilities, and resources you need to accomplish your objectives. See the Three of Pentacles as an encouragement that you are on the right track. You are competent at what you do, and you are making progress. Keep going!
The 8 of Swords brings a bit of a halt to the stability and progress of the other two cards. It is a warning card. Don’t allow yourself to feel trapped by your circumstances. When you believe you have no options, it brings everything you work for to a standstill. You may be over-thinking things, creating negative patterns, or limiting yourself by only considering the worst-case scenario. The more you think about the situation, the more you feel stuck and without any options. It is time to get out of your head and let go of those thoughts and beliefs holding you back. As you change your thoughts, you change your reality. Replace negative thoughts with positive ones, and you will start to create a more favorable situation for yourself.
My takeaway:
Face life’s challenges from a point of balance, logic, and reasoning but with compassion. You may find that you need to collaborate with others or find yourself in a situation of participating in teamwork to accomplish goals, but never allow yourself to think negative thoughts or let yourself believe you are trapped by circumstances. There are always alternatives and based on the two cards in front of this one, you are advised to maintain logical thinking while joining with others.
Now for another awesome dragon card!
Thanks for the inspiration Jan. I’m from the school of ‘if you want something done, do it yourself.’ 🙂 x
I’m a fan of logical thinking! We could certainly use more of it in the world right now. Thanks, Jan!
Amen to that, Teri! The world definitely needs both logical thinking and teamwork. Thanks for stopping by!
Hi Jan, this is a great post. I am not much of a person for teamwork as I always find I end up doing a lot more than other people in team situations. Of course, they are unavoidable at work some of the time.
I understand that issue, Robbie. It’s hard to find a team that does equal amounts of work and provides equal amounts of input. When you do, it’s magic! Thank you for stopping by!
Per usual, I love today’s reading. Thank you for sharing, Jan! My takeaway… On the first card, I like that you mention steering clear of drama. I try my absolute best to stay away because it usually leads to unnecessary negativity. And then the mention of emotion and creativity, which as a writer, strongly go hand in hand. So of course, I love that tidbit! The 2nd card helps me appreciate my new job even more. I’ve been here just over five months and it’s a world of difference from where I was once was. “Team” is an actual thing here and I’m thankful for that. The final card reminds me of my writing and how I feel I’ve really held myself back. Well, no more. I’m ready to go full force into my writing and make something happen. <3
Side note – While we were in Alaska, I thought of you when visiting the local museum, Jan. It had a section on gemstones! And goodness they were gorgeous! I recognized many of the names thanks to you! I took some pictures too! I'll share those with you sometime soon. 🙂
Welcome back, Mar! So glad you had a wonderful trip and I would love to see the gemstones. That reminds me it’s been a while since I’ve done a Wednesday gemstone post. I love your interpretation of the cards today and I totally agree with you. Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment! Hugs!
I like this reading, Jan 🙂 It is easy to get lost in our worries and thoughts. I’m allowing the help I need to get through the week, instead of trying to do it all myself.
That is wonderful, Denise. For some reason, we think we have to do everything, when in truth, it takes a village of support to get through this life. Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment!
Maintaining logical thinking with others is great advice, Jan.
Thank you, John!
The reading today is a reminder for me that I’m not alone in this multi-author project I’m working on. Always before it was just me. Now I have nine others that I can lean on and work through plot problems. It’s really nice for a change. And the eight of Swords card is spot on. I have been overthinking and letting self doubt creep in. Especially when I allow myself to think about the things I have to do once the writing is finished. Things I know nothing about. I’m glad you had a good Easter, Sister. We both needed a break. I hope you’re refreshed and ready to dive back into your story. Love you.
The reading does seem to fit your situation, sister. You are not alone in this project and that is different for you. We all fight that raven of self-doubt when it comes to our work, but the faster we send him on his way, the faster we can move along. Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment today! Love you!
These Monday posts are always so uplifting, Jan. Thank you.
That is my goal, Jacqui. I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
Oh! I believe this is my favorite Dragon card, Jan! Have a lovely week. 🙂
It is absolutely gorgeous, Mary. I just love them all!
Great reading, Jan! I love how we begin with a mastery of emotions and end with a reminder to slay negative thoughts. 🙂
It’s always a process, Yvette. Negative thoughts can creep in even when we feel like we are in complete control. Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment today! Have a great week!
I like your takeaway, Jan. Teamwork keeps popping up, doesn’t it? I do believe negative thoughts hinder us, so it’s important not to dwell on them.
Yes, it does, Joan. And I have to wonder if maybe it is on a more global scale rather than personal. The world certainly needs to come together and work as a team. Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment! Have a great week.
I so agree, Jan. If people would set aside their differences and work together, the world would be a better place.
It’s always fun to see your Tarot readings, Jan! Certainly, A reminder to change out those negative thoughts for positive ones is a great way to start our week. Glad you had a nice Easter!
Always, Maura Beth. And it is solely up to each of us to redirect any negative thoughts that try to invade our space. Thank you for stopping by and I wish you a great week ahead!
I like your takeaway, Jan. I do believe it’s important to approach circumstance and problems that arise with compassion. It’s also easy to let negative thoughts intrude rather than focus on the positive. That takes extra effort but is worth every bit of energy. Happy Monday, and I’m glad you had a nice Easter. We spent ours with family as well, and it was wonderful!
Thank you for your comment, Mae. I’m glad you enjoyed the post and that it made sense to you. I struggled with it ending on a warning or negative thought, but I get what I get when I draw. I’m so glad you enjoyed Easter with family. That’s what makes holidays special. Happy Monday!

Confusing reading this week. Maybe it’s time to use some vacation days.
I think that’s a fabulous idea, Craig. It is somewhat confusing with it ending on a note of warning. Thank you for stopping by!
