TAROT TUESDAY! Three of Wands #TarotTuesday

Welcome to another TAROT TUESDAY!

Today we have the Three of Wands.

Remember that WANDS represent primal energy, spirituality, inspiration, determination, strength, intuition, creativity, ambition and expansion, original thought and the seeds through which life springs forth.

I love this card. He is staring out at such an open expanse ahead while holding on to his spiritual beliefs.

The keywords are: Progress, expansion, foresight, overseas opportunities

The Three of Wands signals the many chances available to you to broaden your horizons through study, travel, business enterprise, and learning. You are becoming more aware of the opportunities that exist for you right now – and there are still more to come. To take advantage of this potential, you must stay committed to your path and be prepared to stretch beyond your comfort zone, knowing your best hopes lie outside of your current environment. It is time to think BIG. Consider what you can do to open doors to more development and self-exploration. This card encourages you to dream bigger than your limitations. Accept your vision and be confident you will achieve it.

The Three of Wands also brings your attention to the changes and challenges that lie ahead. Given the man in this card can see far into the distance, then you are likely to be already aware of the upcoming developments and obstacles and can prepare for them ahead of time.

Given the image of land and sea, the Three of Wands can sometimes point to travel, especially overseas or over a body of water. It encourages you to be adventurous and venture to unknown places (even if it’s only through books) to discover more about yourself and learn many new things along the way.

As always, I hope you enjoyed today’s card and that you got some inspiration from it. My resource for interpretation is BiddyTarot.com

    1. Thanks for visiting, Teagan. Yes, we can travel the world through the pages of a book! Isn’t that exciting? It is to me. 🙂

This is a good card, Jan. I like thinking big and looking to the future. Its easy to get caught up in minor issues and forget to do that. As for the travel part I do that Thursday:) Thanks, Jan!

  3. I love the different interpretations and that you give people so much to think about, especially to consider using the Tarot in their everyday life. Perhaps, the stigma will disappear, one day.

    1. YES! Perhaps it will, Annette. So far, I’ve been blown away by the interest shown in these cards. I do use them daily, along with Goddess and Angel Oracle cards and love the insight they bring! Thank you SO much for reblogging and helping to spread the word! Hugs!!!

    1. And, it may not necessarily be a physical journey, but through study or foresight. Since Wands represent the spiritual side of life, I see it as more of an inward journey. Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment! Hugs!

  4. An informative interpretation, Jan. Like Gwen, my knowledge of Tarot amounts to a big fat goose egg. I can see a lot of inspiration for novel writing in several of these so far!

    1. Definitely, Mae! I agree. I know that Craig has based one of his books from the Major Arcana of the Tarot Deck and I’m sure others have as well. Thanks so much for coming along for the ride! Hugs!

  5. I like the repetition of threes. The leaves, the ships, etc. Everything is weighted to the right, two wands and two ships. I wonder what that means. I also like that it looks like a map below his feet almost another way to signify a journey.

    1. Great observation, Craig. The number three is the Holy Trinity number (Father, Son, Holy Spirit or Mind, Body, Spirit) and is also the number that signifies a complete circle, (past, present future). It is said that three is the first of four perfect numbers. Three denotes divine perfection; Seven denotes spiritual perfection; Ten denotes ordinal perfection; and Twelve denotes governmental perfection. As far as everything being weighted to the right, here’s my intuitive take on it: The right side of the brain is best at expressive and creative tasks, so to me this card leans that direction. Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving such an engaging comment! I’m glad you are enjoying this series!

      1. I love this series. I key on three because of fairy tale structure. (Don’t forget maiden, mother, and crone.) I like your right brain interpretation too.

  6. Jan – I’m learning so much from you on tarot cards. What started your interest in studying them? Curiosity or research for a book? Inquiring minds want to know!! LOL!! Have a terrific Tuesday! Love & hugs from Kansas!

    1. Hi, Tonya. Good question. Since the seventies, I’ve had an interest in all things metaphysical, but my study of the Tarot cards started in 2013 in Colorado. I took classes to learn about them and how to use them. Thank you for stopping by and for the good wishes!! Love you!

Another great interpretation, Jan! I know nothing about Tarot, so I am learning a lot through your readings. Thank you!

    1. Hello, China. Look at the paragraph above the picture of the card. I gave a refresher on what the Wands signify. Thank you for stopping by and for the reblog!
