Today we have the Three of Wands.
Remember that WANDS represent primal energy, spirituality, inspiration, determination, strength, intuition, creativity, ambition and expansion, original thought and the seeds through which life springs forth.
I love this card. He is staring out at such an open expanse ahead while holding on to his spiritual beliefs.

The Three of Wands signals the many chances available to you to broaden your horizons through study, travel, business enterprise, and learning. You are becoming more aware of the opportunities that exist for you right now – and there are still more to come. To take advantage of this potential, you must stay committed to your path and be prepared to stretch beyond your comfort zone, knowing your best hopes lie outside of your current environment. It is time to think BIG. Consider what you can do to open doors to more development and self-exploration. This card encourages you to dream bigger than your limitations. Accept your vision and be confident you will achieve it.
The Three of Wands also brings your attention to the changes and challenges that lie ahead. Given the man in this card can see far into the distance, then you are likely to be already aware of the upcoming developments and obstacles and can prepare for them ahead of time.
Given the image of land and sea, the Three of Wands can sometimes point to travel, especially overseas or over a body of water. It encourages you to be adventurous and venture to unknown places (even if it’s only through books) to discover more about yourself and learn many new things along the way.

This is a good card, Jan. I like thinking big and looking to the future. Its easy to get caught up in minor issues and forget to do that. As for the travel part I do that Thursday:) Thanks, Jan!

I like the repetition of threes. The leaves, the ships, etc. Everything is weighted to the right, two wands and two ships. I wonder what that means. I also like that it looks like a map below his feet almost another way to signify a journey.
Great observation, Craig. The number three is the Holy Trinity number (Father, Son, Holy Spirit or Mind, Body, Spirit) and is also the number that signifies a complete circle, (past, present future). It is said that three is the first of four perfect numbers. Three denotes divine perfection; Seven denotes spiritual perfection; Ten denotes ordinal perfection; and Twelve denotes governmental perfection. As far as everything being weighted to the right, here’s my intuitive take on it: The right side of the brain is best at expressive and creative tasks, so to me this card leans that direction.
