Welcome to another Tarot Tuesday!
If you are just joining me, let me explain the inspiration to begin these posts. In Texas, and all across the country, Taco Tuesday is a popular day when Tacos are usually 99 cents. So, I had the inspiration, or Angel nudge as I like to think of it, to create a Tarot Tuesday. Each Tuesday I will post a different Tarot card and give its meaning. I pray and ask for the right card that will bring a universal message.
I created a short video to demonstrate how I pull the card for the posts. If you’re interested, here’s a LINK.
I did not want to post this card, but I am obligated to share what the Angels give to me. So, today the card I drew is from the Major Arcana and is the Death Card.
Keywords associated with The Death Card: Endings, change, transformation, and transition.
Death carries a black flag decorated with a white, five-petal rose, reflecting beauty, purification and immortality and the number five representing change. Together, these symbols reveal that death isn’t just about life ending. Death is about endings and beginnings, birth and rebirth, change and transformation. There is beauty in death, and it is an inherent part of being alive.
The Death card is probably the most feared and misunderstood of all the cards in the Tarot deck. Just mention the card’s name and most people freak out, worried they will suddenly keel over and die as soon as this card appears. Relax! The Death card can be one of the most positive cards in the deck.
The Death card symbolizes the end of a major phase or aspect of your life, opening up the possibility of something far more valuable and essential. You must close one door to open another. You need to put the past behind you and part ways, ready to embrace new opportunities and possibilities. It may be difficult to let go of the past, but you will soon see its importance and the promise of renewal and transformation. If you resist these necessary endings, you may experience pain, both emotionally and physically, but if you exercise your imagination and visualize a new possibility, you allow more constructive patterns to emerge.
Similarly, Death shows a time of significant transformation, change and transition. You need to transform yourself and clear away the old to bring in the new. Any change should be welcomed as a positive, cleansing, transformational force in your life. The death and clearing away of limiting factors can open the door to a broader, more satisfying experience of life.
The Death card has elements of a sudden and unexpected change. Death happens to everyone, no matter who you are, how much money you have, where you live, or what color your skin is; it is the same with a significant change. So, the Death card can be a sign you may feel as though you are caught in the path of sweeping change and cannot escape its effects. Although the upheaval may seem unwanted and painful, this massive change could bring with it a series of unexpected surprises that create new opportunities and advantages for you.
Finally, Death is a sign that you need to learn to let go of unhealthy attachments in your life to pave the way to a more fulfilled life of deeper meaning and significance. Death teaches you to let go of outworn and outgrown ways of life and to move forward from them. This is a perfect card to break a bad habit or pattern of behavior. See this as a time to cut out excess and let go of what is unnecessary for your life. Purge the old belongings, memories and baggage that are getting in your way.
So, as with each Tarot card, there are positives. To me this is so timely and significant to the current COVID-19 pandemic and unwanted changes that we are forced to accept. What we must stay focused on is a positive outcome of more unity and more compassion once we are past this crisis. It will come to an end, but the biggest question is: Will we ever return to our previous way of life? Or will it open doors to a better more fulfilling way of living? Give me your thoughts.
Thank you for joining me! See you next Tuesday for another inspiring message from the Universe via the Tarot Cards!
As always, I use the Rider-Waite Radiance deck and BiddyTarot.com for interpretations.
HI Jan, thank you for this card. It is amazing where you find the positive and strength in life. Have a good weekend.
Thank you, Robbie. The sources are there for us all!
The Death card reads intimidating, but I like your positive spin on it. I think people are taking the time during their isolation to reflect and make mental changes. I don’t believe things will be the same once this is over, and we should prepare ourselves for that.🥰
I feel the same, Vashti. I don’t think we will ever return to what we considered our “normal” way of life. We are weary and wounded, and change is absolutely necessary. I appreciate you stopping by and leaving a comment! Hugs!
Always happy to visit, my friend❣️
Such a beautiful message, Jan! I see so many positive things from this post and agree that it speaks measures for what’s going on in our world right now. We must look forward to new possibilities, new opportunities, and find the blessings that surround us. ❤❤
Thank you, Marlena! I’m happy that you stopped by. Yes! We must look forward to new possibilities and opportunities and the blessings are all around. We only have to take a look! I appreciate you!
Wow! Good Friday through Easter Sunday… Holy days and every day, this time of year death and resurrection are symbols of hope for a weary world. The daffodils are even celebrating! A wonderful share, Jan.
Oh, Bette, what a refreshing visual you presented with the daffodils. And, yes, we are a weary world. Thank you so much for stopping by. Hugs!
To get the Death card on the first full moon of the Spring equinox is kind of poetic, don’t you think? Death….rebirth. Transformation. Change. We all have an opportunity here to evaluate our lives while we sit at home. When we get past this pause in our lives, let us hope we all change for the better. Our world is transforming. May we help Her change for the better. ☮️❤️😊
Yes, I do, Yvette. Poetic, symbolic and pretty amazing! You are so right about isolation providing time for reflection. Our world is changing and we can fight it or change with it. Thank you so much for stopping by today! Happy Full Moon!!
That’s actually a good card. Maybe the changes ahead will be positive for a few years.
They say before change, comes great chaos. If this isn’t great chaos, I don’t know what is. Here’s to positive changes! Thanks for stopping by, Craig!
A time of change, you couldn’t have picked a better card. I think it will be positive as most of us move forward with open eyes as to what is truly important:)
I thank the Angels for giving us the card we all needed for this week. Yes, it is positive changes that will change the course of our lives. Thank you so much for stopping by!
Somethings definitely need to change and it is about individual responsibility converted in to community responsibility on a much bigger scale. Great interpretation Jan…hugsx
You are so right, Sally. It all starts with each individual taking responsibility for themselves and that ripples out into communities and on and on. I love that visual! Thank you so much for stopping by! Hugs!
♥
That is a nice visual and so true.

Love your interpretation of this card, Jan. I feel it, too. 🙂 Hugs across the miles. xo
Thank you, Natalie, for stopping in and leaving a comment. Hugs back to you!
Well, this didn’t come as a surprise. The entire country is in a state of change. I see this as moving toward the end of the epidemic. There will be huge changes coming about because of this virus. Hospitals will likely start to keep a big supply of masks, gowns, gloves on hand and not rely on the federal government’s stockpile. People will most likely change in their attention to hand-washing and not going out when they’re sick. I don’t believe we can go back to the way things were before and this will definitely influence this next presidential election. As for me, I’m praying for an end to this isolation here where I live. Maybe this card signifies that. I sure hope so.
I agree, sister. I know none of this is easy. But, if we always have it easy, we never grow. We stagnate. You are right in that we will never go back to the way things were. But, that’s okay with me because I wasn’t much agreeing with the way things were. Please take care and try to keep your sweet smile on your face and your spirits up! I love you!
Many may fear this card but I love it! It always predicts the ending of suffering, of nerve-wracking situations, of difficult situations. And what better card to pick these days since everybody is longing for the ending of the situation the world is in. But it also tells me that because of the current situation, another era has ended too and will flow into something better. Amazing card!
My thoughts exactly, Erika! In our isolation, we are forced inward and that is when we can expand and grow. Thank you so much for your insightful comment! Hugs!
That’s beautifully said. Yes, it is our own inner healing, our own growing awareness that makes it happen. I love your inspiring posts. Always so uplifting, Jan!
Dearest Jan- When you posted this card, I was not fearful, before I even read your post it spoke to me of change.
As your blog post said, one door must close for another to open.
Old ways must die, whether we want them too or not, in order for new challenges to begin. My previous job I had for 20 years was ridiculed with change. I learn to embrace it and usually found out that the change was for the better. If it wasn’t, I learned from it. We all have the power to bend, so let’s embrace every day’s changes and challenges with an attitude of vigor and the will to explore new adventures.
Love you and stay safe and healthy my sweet friend.
Tonya, change is so hard for me. Us Tauruses are quick to reject change. We want things to stay the same and upheaval and chaos just drives us insane. But, I’m trying hard to accept that change is not always bad. Some change is good. The main thing is, I hope this virus is beginning to die out. Love you, girl.
You are SO right, Tonya. If we never face challenges, we never grow into our fuller potential. We do have the power to bend. It’s a choice. Thank you for your beautiful post! You and Rob stay positive, safe and healthy! Hugs!
Given the news out of New York let’s hope the Death Card means the virus has peaked there and will start to decline. I liked your interpretation< Jan. Thanks.
I agree. Thanks, John!
😁
Reblogged this on Campbells World.
What a beautiful interpretation of the Death card, Jan! I wholeheartedly agree with you. We’re in a time of great transition, a time in which compassion reigns, goodness is everywhere apparent, and meditation/prayer has become a part of life. How extraordinary. ♥
First, I have to ask why you did not want to post this card.
Your interpretation was wonderful and spot on in my opinion.
I have never feared this card.
I find that sometimes the things that happen to us even when they seem the darkest bring such beautiful results.
It has been that way for me in many different situations.
The most wonderful thing I ever experienced came from a most hideous trial.
My hesitation only came from the way most people perceive this card in a fearful way. I have never feared it because death comes to us all in many forms before we exit our human bodies. If we never experience difficult times, as you pointed out, we never grow into our fuller potential. Thank you SO much for your wonderful comment and for the reblog! Hugs!
I think we are going to see many changes when this thing is over.
I think the majority of the changes will be good ones.
I also think that we will have to experience some darkness before the dawn.
I think that we are going to see times that until now we have only written about in our science fiction books. Our apocalypse books. Our fantasy books.
But in all of those books, did the outcome not shine brightly in the end?
Sorry. I am a writers imagination network.
So true, Gwen. It is an extraordinary time and it is appropriate that some of our ways of living die out in order for new higher vibrational ways can prevail! Thank you for your comment and for joining in with meditation and prayer! Hugs!
