2025 Top Ten List!!

Choosing only ten books out of the 70 I read in 2025 was doubly hard because I read so many great stories.

I tell you, folks, authors are stepping up their game! 🙂 I hope you find something here you haven’t yet read. Click on the graphic for the purchase link. So without further ado, here we go.

We lost Joan in 2025 and I included this book, not for that reason, but because it was her best story!

I can’t let it end here. So, I’ll share a few more that deserve a mention. I highly recommend any or ALL of these as well!

Thank you, Authors, for keeping me entertained and giving me food-for-thought throughout the year!

  2. Jan, a super list of your top ten and I’m impressed you could choose – it can’t have been easy. I have Liz’s book on my list of books to read and it’s been interesting to follow her journey to writing the book. Wishing you a very Happy New Year and one filled with many more terrific reads.

    1. Choosing these books was definitely NOT easy, Annika. I read so many great stories in 2025. Thank for visiting. I know you are going to love Liz’s book when you get to read it.

  3. Hi Jan I hope you had a great Christmas and that you also have a very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year.
I was so excited to see Poetic Justice in your top ten list of books for 2025. Thank you so much.

  4. I’ve read one of the books on your top ten list, #8 Burning Butterflies, as well as two of your honorable mentions, Badlands and King Copper and I can certainly vouch for those three great books. I highly recommend them. However, I will try to read as many as possible among the other ones you list.

  5. What an amazing surprise to find this post when I checked my emails today!!! Thank you, so happy you enjoyed the collection. I completely agree about The Weight of Snow and Regret, I will never forget that one. The ones I haven’t read, I have waiting for me on my Kindle. Thanks for putting a top ten together, it would be hard to do with all the great stories out there and its extra special to see Miracles here! Happy New Year! xo

    1. Miracles was such a great collection of stories, Denise. I loved them all. Each one left me with hope and that’s something hard to come by in these days and times. Thank you so much for stopping by!

  6. Great list! I would have a difficult time ranking all the great books I read this year. I took the Goodreads challenge, set a goal of 75, and I ended up reading 77 for the year.

  7. Wow! What a great list, Sister! I know how hard it was for you to choose just 10 from all the ones you read. An impossible task yet you managed. Loved, loved Weight of Snow and Regrets! Denise’s was also so good as well as The Bridge. Here’s to more happy reading in 2026! Much love.

    1. Thanks for stopping by, sister! Yes, it was super hard to pick. There were so many great books this year. Thanks for adding your recommendation for Liz, Denise and Shanna’s books. I’m looking forward to more great entertainment in 2026!

  8. I am thrilled to see Poetic Justice in your Top-10 list, Jan. It’s especially wonderful given the other books on the list. I’ve read many of them, and a couple are still in my TBR pile. I think it’s a great list.

I am still shocked over our community losing Joan. I hope you have a great rest of this year, enjoy the holiday and that 2026 treats you well.

    1. Thank you, Dan! Poetic Justice was a great story and the collaboration with Willow gave it a bit of magic. And I agree with you about the shock of losing Joan. It still doesn’t seem real. I look forward to reading more great books in 2026! I appreciate you stopping by!
