BOOK BLURB:

A narcissistic patriarch. A mystical legend. A fathomless affair.

Most people wouldn’t dread a weekend at the historic Harbor Pointe Inn. Lorelei Audley isn’t most people. The fresh sea air, breathtaking vistas, and gourmet meals can’t buoy her spirits. She’s there to coordinate her father’s latest wedding. The bride is a nightmare, yet somehow, the groom is worse. Lorelei steels herself to suffer through a few days of psychological abuse and abject misery.

She’s unprepared for a paranormal encounter, missing persons case, and police investigation.

Not to mention a budding romance.

A lot can happen in a short time, far more if the supernatural is involved. Lorelei has a small window in which to solve some very big problems—problems as numerous as the sands at the foot of the scenic Harbor Pointe cliffs.

MY REVIEW:

Lorelei Audley is a character I immediately connected with. Everything that happens to Lorelei makes me think of Murphy’s Law. She seems destined to run into one disaster after another. When she slips and falls in the foyer of the Harbor Pointe Inn upon her arrival in pouring rain, she’s humiliated, knowing she’s flashed everyone nearby. Lorelei is stressed to the max.

Her father is getting married yet again. And he insists that Lorelei handle all of the preparations for the wedding at the historic inn. And while Lorelei goes above and beyond to satisfy his every whim, nothing she does is ever good enough.

Thank goodness for another character, Porter Barrett, a budding astronomer, who helps her navigate through the madness of the wedding. There is a slight hint of a possible romance, and I love that.

I wanted Lorelei to stand up to her narcissistic father and put him in her place, but the way the author unfolded the story, she went much deeper than just telling the man off and leaving. She created a scenario I could not have seen coming a mile away.

Troilo blends the past with the present in this story and includes complex family dynamics that I found relatable, mixed with otherworldly events I could not have predicted. You will love this story if you love a great family drama story with paranormal aspects! I highly recommend it!

And in case you missed them, here is the rest of the Harbor Pointe Series!
