Creative Perspective Challenge #2 #FlashFiction @dlfinnauthor

Greetings, all. I am participating in D.L. Finn’s latest writing challenge and happy to share. Please check out all of the wonderful contributions by going to her BLOG!

The prompt was this graphic and it certainly sparked my creativity.

I chose to respond to this prompt with a free-verse poem. This poem expresses what I truly feel inside. I believe we stand on the precipice of change and spiritual evolution, and while change is sometimes unpleasant, the result is most often rewarding. For instance, the road that goes out to my daughter’s house is under construction, because as the giant subdivisions have popped up, the road can’t handle all the traffic. So, for now, it’s a nightmare trying to get out there. The end result will be great, but the time in between is painful. So, it’s the same on a spiritual level as we grow and learn on our chosen path. I hope you enjoy the poem!

She pauses on the threshold of awakening
One foot in this world
One foot in the next
Trusting the strength
Of the bridge beneath her feet
Connecting the third dimension
To the fifth
She takes tentative steps
Focused on and moving forward
Always toward the light

So beautifully said, Jan. I like that we keep moving towards the light even in the middle of chaos! I’m feeling the same thing. xo
