Friday Free For All! #SneakPeek – A Beggar’s Bargain #Birthday #AmReading

Happy Friday! I held my breath, hoping WordPress would work for me today. I’m still having ongoing issues with it, but am now talking with one of their Happiness Engineers, so hoping we can get things sorted.

First off, I want to share a sneak peek at my new book cover! I am so excited about releasing this book on March 12th. I should have a pre-order link soon.

LOGLINE: Desperate circumstances force a man to accept a drastic bargain for a wife he’s never met.

This story is set in 1947 in Missouri. An amazing lady in the area where the story takes place has set up a whirlwind of book signings starting on April 10th. I’ve never done back-to-back signings and I’m looking forward to it.

On the home front, my youngest granddaughter, Samantha (Sammy) turns 9 this weekend. She is an animal lover, and all she wanted for her birthday was a crested gecko. Look at that smile!

So, this weekend will be all about celebrating Sammy.

On the reading front, I just finished Jill Weatherholt’s newest book. It was an uplifting read and you can see my review here: Their Inseparable Bond Review

PURCHASE LINK

On the writing front, I am working on the second book in The Bargainer Series. The working title is A Noble Bargain. We’ll see if it sticks. I’ve been able to add to my word count this week, so that makes me happy. I am almost to the halfway mark.

I find that if I just keep suiting up and showing up to life, things progress. I am sure we all feel the same. But also, I feel a huge shift of energy. Perhaps it’s the energy of the super moon this weekend, or perhaps it’s just settling into the new year. Whatever it is, I feel the shift is for a higher good. A person I follow on YouTube is Sarah Hall, and she has a video that goes into great detail about this super moon. If you are interested, you can check it out HERE.

And now an hour later, I think I can finally publish this post. I have to find a way to resolve this WP issue as it is getting wearisome. I’ve tried every suggestion found on the internet. Sigh.

Anyway, Happy Friday! I hope you each have a wonderful weekend ahead!

  1. Woo-Hoo! Congratulations on the new book! A Beggar’s Bargain is such a good story with heart. I just really loved these characters and their struggles to make a life. I had tears in my eyes a few times; it was so emotional. You get better and better. Love you dearly, Sister.

    1. Thank you, sister. I can’t wait for everyone to get A Beggar’s Bargain! I hope the readers enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment. Love you!

  2. Jan, wow! What a terrific week for you! The cover looks great, love the title and how exciting about a series and already on work with #2! That is fantastic and congratulations. Enjoy the book signings, you better rest your hand in between! Sammy looks over the moon and geckos are so cute – my nephew had them as young and I grew quite attached to them.

Good luck with Happiness Engineers – after being on the phone with them once for four hours I was anything but happy!

Wishing you a lovey Sunday, my friend! xx

    1. Thank you, Annika. Yes, the term Happiness Engineers is an oxymoron. 🙂 Sammy had a wonderful birthday party with lots of critters to celebrate with them. I appreciate you stopping by and so glad you like the cover! Lots of busy days ahead!

Your cover checks all the boxes. It matches the title and immediately gives the reader a sense of the setting.

  4. I love your new cover, Sister! It might not be perfect in every way but few things in life are. It’s really pretty and the story is just fantastic. You’re on a new writing level and that clearly shows with this story. Happy Birthday to Sam!! I hope her celebration is fantastic and she’s over the moon. Love you, Sister. Press on. There has to be a solution somewhere for your computer problem.

    1. You are right, sister. There is nothing in life that’s perfect. If there is, I haven’t found it. I appreciate the encouragement on my writing. I’m excited to release A Beggar’s Bargain after sitting on it for so long. I have a feeling Sammy’s birthday will be fantastic. 🙂 Ryan is here with me this evening, so I am hoping he can find a solution to my computer problem. I have more confidence in him than anyone else. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a good weekend! Love you, and I”m pressing on. Always! 🙂

    1. I agree, John. I’m not impressed with the Happiness Engineers, but my grandson is with me this evening and I have much more confidence in his ability to flush it out than WP. Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Happy birthday to Sammy! My niece turned 9 in August, and if a gecko crossed her path I guarantee the last thing she’d do is pick it up, lol. Love the cover of the new book, Jan, and that logline has me all kinds of curious. Have a great weekend!

    1. Lol, Teri. I’d be right there with your niece. I don’t pick up Sammy’s reptiles. 🙂 I’m glad you like the new book cover and that the logline piques your curiosity. Yay! Thanks for stopping by and happy weekend!

  6. So many changes lately. So many endings and new beginnings. Yes, I feel a shift of energy too, and I hope from the bottom of my heart it may help us slip into a peaceful and more loving energy.

I love that little gecko 💖

    1. I completely agree, Erika. The energy has to shift in order for us to expand and grow in our consciousness. Lots of changes, endings and beginnings. I pray that our sweet little planet can slip into a peaceful more loving energy one soul at a time. Thank you for stopping by. Have a great weekend!

    1. Thanks, Priscilla. I think Fresh Ink did a great job with the cover. Sammy is over the moon with her little gecko. I’m looking forward to celebrating her tomorrow. Thanks for checking out the review. Have a great weekend!

  7. Wow! You have so much going on, Jan. What a fun post!

Congratulations on your upcoming release! I love the cover for A Beggar’s Bargain. Have fun with your book signing tour. It sounds like it will be amazing.

Your granddaughter is adorable! Did she name her gecko?

Finally, I thoroughly enjoyed Jill’s book as well. She’s got another winner on her hands.

    1. I do manage to stay busy, Mae. 🙂 Sometimes too busy. Thank you for the good wishes for the new upcoming release. I am looking forward to visiting with all the people in the area for the signings. Yes. Sammy named her gecko Ginger. 🙂 Thanks for adding your recommendation for Jill’s book. I agree that she has another winner on her hands! Have a great weekend.

  8. An enticing cover! I’m excited about this book of yours. Happy Birthdays to Sammy. I love that she got the gift she wanted. I also love kids who love animals.

    1. Thank you so much, Darlene! I am excited about the book, too. 🙂 Yes, Sammy is definitely an animal lover. It will be interesting to see how her life goes. Have a great weekend!

    1. Hi, Sarah! Oh, that would be totally awesome. I will be posting the full itinerary when it gets closer. The book signing events are set up in Greenfield, Lockwood and Everton. Would love to meet you!

  9. I’m keeping a positive thought and prayer that you’ll resolve the WordPress issue. Maybe I should add some fairy dust, too? 🙂 I remember those days with my WordPress blog, too. I had another blogger mention that maybe it could be the addition of AI on websites/blog? I know my site has this additional element we can use but I’m definitely staying away from using the AI program.

Love your granddaughter’s smile. Happy Birthday to Sammy! Woohoo! Congratulations on the beautiful cover! Thrilled for you and your writing. Enjoy your weekendm Jan! xo

    1. Fairy dust is welcome along with the positive thoughts and prayers, Mary. I am determined to get to the root cause of the issue. I too am staying from AI. It doesn’t interest me in the least. I love Sammy’s smile, too. She brightens my days. I’m glad you like the cover. Thank you for your kind support, my friend!
