Greetings, friends. If you celebrate Easter, I hope it was great! We had a bit of welcome rain and you know what they say about April showers.
I am super excited that FRINGES, HEARTSTRINGS AND LYRICS releases tomorrow! It has been a pleasure putting this collection together and now it’s time to let it fly. I appreciate all the pre-orders.
I am working on a blog tour and it kicks off this week on Thursday at C.S. Boyack’s place! I’ll be posting a link. I hope you’ll travel along on this tour.
And a bit more on the writing front. I have a new story idea for a Christmas novella. It’s always so exciting when a new story shows up! I don’t have a title yet, but I do have the main character’s name, Bill Briscoe. Now, I had to sit with that because I would never have given a character that name. But that’s what showed up. Still, I know I can change it. The story will be set in the 1950s and Bill is an artist. I’m looking forward to watching this one unfold. Remember when it was common for someone to paint on storefront windows for Christmas? I do.
Back in January I was all excited about my granddaughter getting a major role in the high school play, Matilda, remember? And I don’t know if you remember that the play got cancelled because of the ice storm that shut everything down. Well, they finally got to reschedule it and oh my goodness, it was SO good! Sydney played the part of Lavender, Matilda’s best friend, and did such a great job! So proud of her and all the kiddos. They have their final performance tonight, so of course, I have to go back.
With school out on Friday, my older daughter and two grandsons planned to visit a nearby lavender farm. But when I looked at the website, I realized it’s too early for the lavender. It doesn’t bloom until mid-May. So, instead, we found a butterfly house and discovery garden nearby, and took a detour.
Moments like these are the reason I live where I do.
Then, there was Easter. The kids still love doing the glow-in-the-dark Easter egg hunts and this is our fifth year to do it. It’s a lot of work. Here’s a glimpse.
There were lots of laughs and a couple of glasses of wine involved.
Yesterday was the first day I’ve had in a long time where I didn’t have to be anywhere, so I took advantage of the time and cleaned house. Lord knows, it needed it. I feel better. Then, based on my grandson’s instructions and recommendation, I made cold brew coffee and left it to steep overnight in the fridge. I’ll let you know how it turns out.
I found this bit of inspiration to share. The truth of it struck a chord.
I bought a new deck of Tarot cards and I just love them! Here’s what popped out for me to share with you today.
The Two of Pentacles is all about keeping the balls in the air. There is a lot going on, as indicated by the waves crashing against the rocks and the figure trying to keep his balance while juggling everything all at once. It is definitely something I can relate to right now. But the good news is this is temporary as indicated by the rainbow. There is hope for things to settle.

I’m so glad the play was rescheduled! I know your granddaughter was excited. I’m not familiar with glow in the dark egg hunts, but I’m here for it. My boys would have loved it – and probably still would, lol. Excited to be part of your blog tour, Jan!

The kids love doing them and this was the fifth year. We are already trying to find an alternative for next year. 😁
