Hello, Blogging family! Checking in to say hello, give a surgery update and let you know I missed you and getting to explore your blog posts. I also want to express my gratitude for all the good wishes, healing vibes, and prayers that you sent my way. I felt them. Thank you!

The Texas Bluebonnets are starting to bloom. They are such beautiful but short-lived flowers. I hope everyone who celebrates the Easter holiday had a good time. This is the first time in fifteen years I had to miss spending Easter with family. I’m just not up to their level of chaos yet. 🙂
I am happy to report the surgery went well. The doctor found it to be more complicated than she first thought and it lasted for around three hours. But I am recuperating and getting stronger every day. My two daughters were with me all the way and I am so grateful to have raised such loving and compassionate women. The surgery occurred on Monday. I didn’t return home until Wednesday afternoon. I have indulged in the three Rs as I heal: Resting, Recuperating and Reading. Each day I set a goal. It may be as simple as washing my hair or checking email, but I need something to work toward, yet keeping it simple.
Am I ready to jump back into everything with both feet? No. But I will dip my toes in the water as my body allows. I will take another week before I try to return to work, and even then not in the capacity I was before. Gotta take it slow and easy, but the bills keep coming regardless of whether or not the income does. You understand.
Know that I missed all of you and value your spot in my small world. I won’t promise to catch up, so please forgive me for that. I’ll do what I can when I can but because of the extensive repair, I have to listen to my body.
Thank you for all that you do and all that you are. I’ll check back in as I can.
I’m so glad the surgery went well, Jan. These life hurdles can be so harsh, but you’ve kept your spirits high through it all. Hugs and blessings for a full recovery. ❤️
Hi Jan, I am glad you are healing up

PS I thought you had retired.
I’m glad the surgery went well, Jan, and that your daughters were with you. Those bills are so annoying, aren’t they? 🙂 Anyway, take good care of yourself and don’t worry about anything else. Sending healing hugs. 🥰

Keep taking good care of yourself, Jan xo
I am trying, Denise! Thank you!
It is so nice to hear from you, Jan. Taking it slow is the best way. Catching up is overrated. You should rest.
I agree, John. I’ve turned over a new leaf. The old me would have been scrambling to catch up. The new me is doing only what I feel like. Wow! I may be growing up. 😉
I’m glad the surgery went well. I pray you have a full recovery soon. Enjoy the 3-R’s in the meantime. 🙂
Thank you, Kymber!
Thank goodness that surgery is behind you. You’ll get back to your normal self in a few weeks. You’re right not to push it but I understand with bills coming in and little income. Love you dearly, Sister.
Thank you for stopping by, sister!
First off, I’m glad that things went so well and that you’re moving forward a little bit each day in your recovery. I think the natural inclination is to want to push ourselves too much, wanting to rush the process, so kudos for your thoughtful approach. Isn’t it the best feeling when we realize our children are incredible humans?
It certainly is, Pete. And thanks for the support. I am not pushing. I don’t want to undo all the surgeon’s hard work!
It’s impressive you wrote this post! Take it easy, Jan. We’ll be here.
I’m doing the bare minimum, Jacqui. Not pushing at all. Thanks for the support!
Glad everything went well, Jan. Happy to hear you’re taking things slowly and listening to your body.
Thanks, Teri. I don’t have much of a choice right now and patience is not something I’m good at. 🙂 But I’m trying.
I’m glad to hear that your surgery went well. Continue resting and healing. 🙂
Thank you, Kay!

Thank you, Priscilla!
It is so wonderful to hear from you, Jan. It sounds like you are being very smart about this and taking the required time to heal. Sending healing hugs and best wishes. ❤️❤️
I’m trying to be smart AND be patient. Thank you so much for the wonderful healing hugs, Darlene!
