Greetings, friends. I am astounded by how fast time is going. My mom always said the older you get, the faster it goes, and I am experiencing that as a profound bit of truth. School is about to be out for all the kiddos, so there will be lots of final events happening this month.
Happy Cinco De Mayo!!

My attempt to return to work last week was an epic fail. Then we started having pretty severe thunderstorms that lasted through the rest of the week. I left the house on Monday and Tuesday, then was home the rest of the week. I am feeling stronger and will attempt to work a little more this week. I can do this. I just have to pace myself. I keep thinking I am still thirty, but in truth, I am very close to seventy-four. So, slowing down is the key. It’s a hard lesson.
I am super happy to report that FINALLY, “A Beggar’s Bargain” and “A Noble Bargain” are transferred back to me and are showing up exactly as they are supposed to along with all the reviews. I cannot tell you how happy I am to have that behind me.
Now, I’m focusing on the final read-through of “A Bold Bargain” and hope to have a cover to share soon. I did find the image I want to use for the wolf pup. I just fell in love with it. That’s the way I pictured him, as I created his character.

As I said, all the grandkids are in the wrap-up phase of this school year. My middle grandson has excelled in the high school band this year and got all Ones on his solo UIL performance! So proud of him. And my oldest granddaughter received an invitation to attend the high school theater award banquet. Only her and one other eighth grader were invited. Here she is all dressed up and Josh with his tuba! I’m a proud grandmother! They certainly brighten my world.

I absolutely fell in love with this quote! It applies to all artists, and that includes us!!!

Finally, the tarot card for this week is the Four of Wands!

This card is a pretty straight forward celebration card! It can also signify a special organized event such as a wedding, anniversary or graduation. Or it could be the completion of a project. Hmmm. Interesting since I am attending a wedding this week, AND plan to do the final read-through on “A Bold Bargain.” ! I also feel like celebrating getting my books back and all squared away plus feeling better and stronger. So, I definitely resonate with this card and hope some of you do as well.
I’m hanging on to an optimistic attitude and wishing you each a wonderful week ahead.
I will be sharing some book reviews this week! I’m excited to tell you about some of the amazing reads I’ve enjoyed!
So glad you got through the book nightmare.
Me too, Craig! It definitely was not easy. Thanks for visiting!
Loving the wolf. I know you’re proud of your grandkids, Jan – congrats to both of them!
Thanks so much, Teri!
You have every reason to be proud of those grandchildren!! Glad you got things sorted out with your books. Like you needed that! Have a super week. xo
Thank you so much, Darlene! Yes, definitely proud of the kiddos. They work hard. And it was such a relief to finally get my books back up.
Are you kidding me? You can impossibly turn 74 this year. Seriously, my jaw dropped when I read this, Jan. I understand that we are still in the 30s mode regardless our real age… lol. I hope you are doing better continuously.
It is fascinating how fast the “little ones” grow up.
Lol, Erika. Yes. It’s true. I will be 74 in August. My mind still wants to think I am 30 but my body disagrees. 😁 I appreciate you stopping by!
That tendency seems to connect us too 😄
Yes, indeed!
I hope you continue feeling better and stronger. We do have to take things slow sometimes, but in our heads, it’s a different story. Enjoy the year-end events with the grandkids, and keep dreaming.
Thanks so much, Dan!
The wolf is a cute one for sure. The unfortunate part of aging is that the body goes one way and the mind another. It is good to try to keep them in sync. I hope you gain more strength this week. I’m glad you got out of that mess with the publisher.
You are so right about the war waged between the body and mind, John. Glad you like the pup image. I can’t wait to see a book cover. And, YES, I am so glad to have my books back under my care! Thanks for stopping by!
It sounds like you have a lot of reasons to celebrate, Jan, and hopefully getting stronger and caring for yourself is one of them. Congrats on getting your books back and looking good, and on getting close with “A Bold Bargain.” Love the pics of the grandies – they’re such sources of pride and joy. 🙂 Have a wonderful week!
Thank you so much for your comment, Diana. Yes, lots to celebrate!
Thank you so much, Diana. Yes, lots to celebrate. I appreciate your comment!
Wonderful post, Jan. Like you, I’m slowly getting my books republished. What a journey! Take care of yourself and rest frequently, my friend. 🤗
Thank you, Gwen. I am so thankful that struggle is over. I hope yours is ending as well. I am having to rethink my days and slow it down a notch. I hope you have a great week ahead!
I agree Jan… time flies! So nice to see your grandkids, they have lovely smiles. Wishing them all the success in all their endeavors. I am amazed at your choice of tarot cards, they sound so relevant. Take care my friend, go slow till you gather your energy. Healing is a slow process. 🤗
Thank you for your lovely comment, Balroop! I am so proud of these kiddos. The card amazed me as well. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!
I am experiencing the same thing you are with aging. My last class will be graduating from high school soon. How did that happen? I also can identify with needing to remind myself I’m not 30. I try to push myself but my body says, “Who do you think you’re foolin’?” 🤣It’s wonderful that your grandkids are doing so well following their passions.
Wow, Pete. If that doesn’t put aging into perspective, I don’t know what does. Thank you for chiming in. Aging gracefully? Not sure who coined that phrase, but I’ve got my doubts. Still, I am thankful to be who I am at the age I am with all the experiences behind me that have helped shape me. Thanks for visiting!
I’m very glad you got your books back, Jan. That is great. I didn’t think you would manage work. I also went back to work to early. I managed but I had to take a rest break in the middle of the day. It was very hard.
PS, your grandchildren are gorgeous. Sydney is wearing very nice shoes.
She loves those shoes. She is thirteen, going on fourteen and thinks they make her look grown up. 🙂 And, they do.
Yes, they do and they are very cool 😎
This has been a learning curve for me all the way around, Robbie! Thanks for visiting.
❤️🔥🙏
I am so glad you are feeling better. A tuba player! That’s scholarship territory if he loves music. Take good care of yourself, Jan.
Thank you, Jacqui. Yes. He never hesitated to choose the Tuba and he excels at it. Hope it does turn into a scholarship. Thank you for stopping by!!
Yes, indeed. Time does fly for us old folks. It’s wonderful that your grandkids are doing well. I know how that feels.
Thank you so much, Tim. I appreciate your comment!
My pleasure, Jan. 😊
Congratulations to both of your grandkids. I know you’re excited for them!
I am proud of how hard they work, Priscilla. It will be interesting to see where they all go in life. Thank you for stopping by!
Love the picture of the wolf, and the quote. As for the tarot reading, I don’t know if any celebrating coming up except Mother’s Day on Sunday, which may also include an early celebration of my birthday (which is next Thursday).
Oh, that’s right, Jeanne. I forgot about Mother’s Day. Another wonderful celebration day. Thank you for stopping by.
I cannot wait for the next book in the Bargain series. 🩶🩶
Yay! Your comment is music to my ears, Christena!
I finished the first one a few weeks ago! Loved it. 🥰 Review on GRs.
Thank you SO much!!!
