Hello, friends! It’s Monday again. Since I missed the regular Monday post last week, there’s lots to catch up on. Let’s dive in!

In the last Monday Meanderings, I stated I was asking for my rights back from the publisher for The White Rune Series. They almost instantly replied with confirmation, reverting the rights back to me. What I didn’t know was that they were going to immediately take down the eBooks. Yikes! so, if you should go looking for any of the books in that series, the only thing showing right now are the paperbacks. So, while I was thinking I would have some time before they came down, I find that is not the case. Creating new covers for these books has how risen to the top of my priority list. But I’m not going to rush. The books weren’t selling as they were, so no one will notice they are missing. I do look forward to rebranding and re-inventing them and hopefully give them a shot in the arm, so to speak.
This past week, my daughter had to fly to Milwaukee for a work conference, so I had to tag-team with my son-in-law to get the girls to all of their activities. We managed, but it was a super busy week. He called me in a panic Saturday morning. The conversation went like this, “Mimi, what is a high ponytail?” It was everything I could do not to laugh. He was trying to fix Sammy’s hair so she could cheer at the football game that morning. I met them at the stadium, and have to say, he did a pretty good job for a first time attempt. 🙂 The front of her hair was far from smooth, but she had a ponytail.

My daughter was supposed to have flown home on Friday and she would have taken care of the hair issue, but all planes flying into DFW got grounded due to a communication outage. That caused a lot of chaos. American Airlines gave my daughter a voucher for a hotel room at the airport in Milwaukee and she finally made it home late Saturday afternoon. What are the odds? I told her she was travel jinxed. We go to Hawaii and have to evacuate for a tsunami, then the volcano erupts two days after we get home, then the entire communication grid to both Dallas airports shuts down when she’s trying to get home. Thankfully, she doesn’t have to go anywhere else for a while.
I got to go on Friday and watch the McKinney High School Marching Band showcase their show for this season and it was amazing! They are calling it Metamorphosis. I’ll try to get some photos before the season is over. I’m so proud of my grandson. These kiddos work SO hard!
This past week was my yearly doctor checkup. My bloodwork came back abnormal. Apparently I had an infection and didn’t kinow it. So, they immediately put me on antibiotics. I’ve finished them and can tell a big difference.
I’m sitting here trying to remember what I did the week before last and I’m drawing a blank. I worked both jobs and was very busy. That’s all I can remember about it. Maybe that’s enough. I know there was more, but nothing stands out so I’ll let it go.
I’m leaving on Thursday for a writing conference in Amarillo, Tx. First, I’ll go to Lubbock and pick up my sister, then go on to Amarillo on Friday. This is the only conference I’ll be attending this year and I’m looking forward to it. I see several workshops I’m interested in attending. Plus, just being around other writers is uplifting. We all speak the same language. If anyone is in Texas and interested, they are still accepting registrations. New Frontiers in Writing I will enjoy sharing with you anything I learn when I return home.
I am SO excited about all the new books that are being released from some of my favorite authors! Have you seen them?
D.L. Finn is releasing her second book in the Miracles & Ghosts Past short story collection! It is set to release tomorrow!!

Mae Clair is releasing a new book and it’s a western. It is set to release tomorrow as well!

Liz Gauffrau is releasing a new novel on October 1st! This is a historical and I cannot wait to read it! Isn’t that cover gorgeous?

Joan Hall has another book in the Legend of Madeira Series!!! Let me tell you, I had the opportunity to read an ARC and it is SO good! I know you are going to enjoy it. It is set to release November 4th!

I cannot wait to dive into all of these! How about you? Any other new ones you know about? Share!! My Kindle hasn’t imploded yet. 🙂
I had a nudge a few days ago to make a music video for a song my late husband wrote. I don’t know why I never made a video for it, but when the nudge hit it was more like a sledgehammer over the head. So, I complied. This song is so special. I found the song lyrics in a folder a couple of years after Rick passed away. The words were very powerful and emotive, I knew I had to do something with it. So, at a music festival, I took it to one of the best music artists I know, Jamie Richards, and asked if he would look at it and possibly be open to recording it. He read the first verse and immediately handed it back to me with a resounding “Yes!” That was years ago, and now here’s the video! I hope you enjoy it! I love making videos, especially with all the upgraded tools Canva now has.
I love this inspiring quote! Lift the anchors and move out to sea. Adventure awaits!

I was drawn to pull a Tarot Card for today’s post.

The keywords to this card are dreams and illusions. The moon illuminates what has been hidden and reveals aspects of your shadow self. That is not always comfortable, but when we can clearly see our self-defeating or negative traits, then we can take steps to improve or make some changes. It is a sign to listen to your intuitive messages. By opening yourself up to expanding your consciousness, you are forced to se what has been previously hidden and no longer serving you. Often this work can be done in dreamtime. The coyote and dog howling at the moon symbolizes our discomfort with duality or the unknown. But the crayfish crawling up from the water represents the quest for the meaning of life.
Being from the major arcana, this card represents a much deeper part of ourselves than simple everyday life. I can definitely relate to it and hope some part of it resonates with you.
That’s all for today. Thank you for visiting! I hope you leave with some tidbit of goodness!
What an awesome video and song, Jan! I’ve read that quote before, and it is so true. We need to live for our purpose. I love the card you picked. It resonates with me as well. Your such a great grandmother! I’m sure your daughter is very grateful for your help.
Yvette M Calleiro 🙂

I’m so glad you enjoyed the video, Yvette. I really enjoyed making it. With all the tools Canva now has, it’s not hard. I agree that we need to live for our purpose and sometimes that takes us out to stormy seas. Glad you enjoyed the card as well. Thank you so much for visiting and I wish you a great week ahead!
Hi Jan, your story about the ponytail gave me a laugh. Glad your daughter wasn’t delayed for long. There were issues with flights at Heathrow and Schiphol as well. It was a cyber attack I read. Good luck with the new week and the writing event.
Interesting post. I liked the song and the high ponytail. Oh, the problems men have! Haha!
My first thought about the travel debacle was a cyber attack, Robbie. It’s pretty darn scary what all they can do and how little information is actually shared with us. I was just so glad she made it home okay. Thanks for visiting!
I agree 🫣
That’s some crazy travel troubles. Your granddaughter looks great, good job to your SIL on the high ponytail.
I am so excited about all four of these upcoming books!
Me too, Priscilla!! We always can count on great stories from these talented writers. Can’t wait to open my Kindle tomorrow! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment!
Good job on the high ponytail, and I can hear that panicked call. Sounds like a fun conference ahead for you and Linda. You did a fantastic job with the video and glad the sing got recorded. Good quote and card pick. I can relate to both. Thank you SO much for including Miracles and your support! Xo
Thanks for stopping by, Denise. I can’t wait to open my Kindle tomorrow! 🙂 I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I appreciate your comment!
I had to laugh at your pony tail story, lol. If we’d had daughters, they’d have worn baseball caps if Mike was responsible for their hair. Sounds like a good conference coming up!
Lol! I’m sure Jason would rather have put a baseball cap on Sammy, but she had to meet the criteria. 🙂 It was good experience for him. Thanks so much for dropping by!
Sounds like you’ve been extra busy, Jan. I have to say that I’m leaving this post with “Amarillo by Morning” stuck in my head. Glad to hear that they found and were able to treat that infection. I hope you have a great week.
Awww, that’s a good song, Dan. 🙂 Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment. I wish you a great week ahead as well!
That’s a great song, Jan! Thanks for sharing the video. Had to laugh about the ponytail, but your son-in-law did a good job. We have a friend who was supposed to fly out of Dallas on Friday. First, an accident on I-20 caused him to be stuck in traffic for an hour and a half, and he missed his plane. Then, the airport shut down because of the communication problems. He finally left Dallas that night and made it to his destination about 9:30 Friday.
Thank you so much for featuring Edge of Twilight and for your kind words. I look forward to publishing this one!
Thanks for visiting, Joan! I’m glad you enjoyed the video. And yes. Even though he didn’t have a clue what he was doing, my son-in-law improvised. The Dallas fiasco affected thousands of people. Glad your friend was finally able to fly out. It was my pleasure to feature Edge of Twilight!!
Great books to add to my TBR list. The theme–the Tarot card–is perfect too. SEALs have a saying (you may know it) that you have to be comfortable being uncomfortable. I have adopted that attitude and it fits your ships in harbor idea and the Tarot. Thanks for this.
I laughed at your ‘add to my TBR list’ comment, Jacqui. Oh, the life of a reader! 🙂 These books all are intriguing. That’s an interesting tidbit of information about SEALS and their saying. It’s very true. Unless we are forced out of our comfort zones, we never grow as humans. Thank you for stopping by and so glad you enjoyed today’s ramblings.
You have been busy, Jan! The story about the high ponytail was a hoot. Lol. You all came through a week of challenges with flying colors. Have fun reworking the covers of the White Rune series. No stress necessary since you see it as an opportunity. Great books coming up. Yikes! I’ll have a bunch of reading to do soon. And I enjoyed the video of Rick’s song – what a wonderful thing to do. Have a wonderful week ahead, my friend.
Thank you so much, Diana. Yes, we all survived a week without my daughter. I told her she is the rock of that household and it’s true. I’m glad I can take my time with the White Rune Series covers. No stress. Maybe I’ll get some inspirations at the writer’s conference. One of the workshops is on creating covers. I’m thrilled that you enjoyed the video. I had so much fun putting it together. I’m happy you dropped by. Hope you have a great week ahead!
You too!
Your video is amazing.
Thank you, Craig. I really did enjoy creating the video and especially with all the new ‘tools’ in Canva nowadays. I appreciate you stopping by and hope you’re feeling better today!
LOL! Oh, Jan, your poor SIL! He should be proud of himself for pulling it off, even if it wasn’t perfect. 🙂
I’m sorry about your books been pulled so quickly, but I can’t wait to see the new covers. So glad your daughter is safe, and that the antibiotics you took have made a difference for you.
Your video is stunning. What a powerful, emotional song!
Finally, thanks for sharing news of The Diamond Jack. I’m happy to be included with so many good upcoming releases! 💕
Yep! I’m sure Jason will remember that challenge for a while and so will Sammy. 🙂 I’m excited about making new covers and having all sorts of thoughts and ideas about them. We’ll see where it all settles. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I really did enjoy creating it. Of course, I’d include The Diamond Jack! I can’t wait to read it. I keep meaning to tell you a little story about a woman who lived around the corner from us in Coleman. Her name was Lucille Diamond (I intend to use that name in a story someday). Anyway, she was born with birth defects. She was a short woman, had a big hump on her back and a birthmark covered half her face. But she married a handsome man named Jack Diamond. They never had any children and Jack had passed away by the time I met Lucille. But she used to make fancy band uniforms for Rick’s band in the sixties, and was a master seamstress. Anyway, I hadn’t thought about her and her unusual circumstances until I saw the title of your book. 🙂
Wow, talk about a coincidence, especially with his name being Jack Diamond. They sound like an amazing couple, and the connection to Rick’s band is so cool. Thank you for sharing that, Jan. I love that the name of my book stirred those memories awake. 🤗
Lovely song and video, Jan. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for stopping by, John!
Jan the video is amazing. I could keep hearing like I do with your other albums.
Thank you, Emma. So glad you enjoyed the video.
Lovely song on the great video, Jan. Having that happen at DFW is scary, but it’s good your daughter got back okay. Your S-I-L did a nice job on his daughter’s hair. Have a great week.
Thank you, Tim. So glad you enjoyed today’s post. Yes, it was a debacle at the airport and it affected both DFW and Love Field. Just crazy. But all’s well that ends well.
Terrific post today. The video is cool.
