Happy Monday, friends. When I saw this image, I had the strongest urge to wander down that highway.

I hope everyone is doing okay today. It’s been somewhat of a quiet week here last week so I don’t have a lot to share.
My daughter and family went to Broken Bow, Oklahoma for a few days and once I got their house put back in order, I stayed home and worked my second job. That allowed me to visit blogs and to get somewhat caught up on a backlog of things. Then when they came home, they had one sick kiddo. She is better now. It was some kind of random virus.
On Saturday, I went with my oldest daughter to the UIL marching band competition for the area. It almost got rained out. I was crossing my fingers it would hold off long enough for them to compete. And it did. They did a great job, getting all ones across the board. Of course, I zoomed in on the Tuba players. 🙂

Can I just say I hate to shop? However, I did stop in a Ross store on Friday and actually bought two things. I can’t remember the last time I went into a store to browse and bought something for myself. I don’t need anything. But after lots of searching, I found a Waylon Jennings t-shirt on Etsy I’d been looking for, so I ordered it. That was a big spending week for me. 🙂
After taking a look at all the feedback on the two White Rune book covers I shared last week, I made some final tweaks, and I think they are done. I’m waiting on a graphics artist who volunteered to make the Ghostly Interference cover for me, but it’s been a few weeks, and I got restless, so I played around with it some and this is what I got. Of course, it’s not final, but at least it’s something to work from and hopefully it will be helpful for him. Let me know your thoughts. What he comes up with may be completely different.

The title had to be a bit smaller font on this one because ‘interference’ is such a long word. 🙂 I’m getting anxious to get the White Rune books back up.
I did a couple of tarot readings in the metaphysical store where I work my second job. I’m feeling more and more confident with them. It’s funny how we doubt and second guess ourselves. I’ve been actively studying and practicing tarot readings for the past fifteen years and still the raven of doubt occasionally perches on my shoulder. I’m learning to shoo him away. I added a page to my website for the readings. Feel free to check it out.
I also subscribed to the Gaia channel this week. I have a seven day free trial and we shall see if it sticks. It is pretty much in alignment with my ways of thinking and living, although some of it is a little too far out there for me to comprehend. I’m truly a simple person and don’t claim to know anything except what my own experiences have taught me.
This next week, I will be making a quick round trip up to Broken Bow, Oklahoma, which is about three hours away, because my daughter accidentally left her wedding ring in the cabin. The cleaning crew found it and a lady contacted her. Thank goodness for honest people, because it is a $10,000 ring. I thought she should just have them overnight it to her, but they didn’t want to risk it. So, I am to pick up the ring on Tuesday.
Oh, I think the share buttons are finally straightened out here, except they are still showing at the top and bottom of each post, no matter how many times I tell it to display only at the bottom. I’m sure I’m missing some small detail and am open to suggestions if you have any. It was really a pretty simple fix, but I didn’t know where go to go find it. My web person fixed it. There was an option to have the share buttons picked at random and it was checked. So, when he unchecked it and put the ones I actually wanted to be there, it solved the problem. I still want to get my website out of Elementor and into a more user-friendly theme at some point. My grandson who is in college, is friends with another student who lives in Idaho that is specializing in web design. He is willing to take on the project as soon as I tell him I’m ready.
Like I said, it was a pretty quiet week, at least compared to my normal pace.
I found this Hemingway quote that I related to. Maybe you will too.

The tarot card for this week comes from the Major Arcana and is powerful!

The Emperor is the depiction of divine masculine power. He sits on a concrete throne, is grounded, yet ready for action, representing inspired action and personal power. If there is something you’ve been putting off, this card is giving you the green light to move forward from a place of power rather than reacting from fear, and advises us to connect with our inner authority, This card speaks to me loud and clear and I hope you will relate to it as well. Time for action!
I do have a busy week ahead and am planning on getting started putting the short story collection together! But first, I have a new one to write. The idea came from a dream. I just love those. I don’t anticipate releasing this collection until next year, so there’s no rush, but I did at least get the new story started. It feels good to work on something fresh!
Have a great week ahead and if you’ve been holding back on something, The Emperor says go for it!
I like what you did with the Ghostly Interference cover! Really good Hemmingway quote, too!
Thank you for the feedback, Priscilla. As I said, this may not be the final cover, but I enjoyed playing around with it. That Hemmingway quote really made sense to me. We are constantly learning and growing in the craft of writing. We ever reach the end of learning. 🙂 Have a great week!
It sounds like a pretty busy week by my standards, Jan. I’m so glad the people called about the ring. Picking it up in person is a better idea. A coworker went through having a piece of jewelry sent overnight, and it was a major hassle and a pretty big expense.
When my daughter suggested overnighting it to her, the property manager made a strong suggestion that she pick it up. I think he didn’t want to be liable for the safe return. I’m glad I can go get it even though it will make for a long day of driving tomorrow. Thanks so much for stopping by, Dan, and hope you have a great week ahead!
Thank goodness for honest people, indeed! I’m so happy they found your daughter’s ring. It’s very kind of you to make that trip for them. Great tarot reading, Jan! I keep putting off preparing the blog tour for my newest book, and I need to just get it done already. Great post!

It was a miracle that she can get the ring back. And yes, I’ll be on the road early in the morning. Wish I had someone to ride with me but I have lots of great music to keep me company. Glad The Emperor spoke to you, too. It seems several of us needed that nudge. Thank you for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful and productive week ahead!
Yay for honest people! A golfer Mike shared a cart with (he didn’t know him, they were paired with another couple for a tee time) stole his pullover and denied doing it when Mike asked about it. That Emperor is speaking to me for sure, Jan. Have a great week!
It was refreshing to know there are still some honest people out there, Teri. That’s awful about the golfer. I believe in karma! 🙂 The Emperor spoke to me as well. Hope you have a great week, too!
Sounds like a good week. Thank heaven the ring was located. Kind of you to go pick it up. I would do the same for my kids.
For sure, Darlene. I’m glad I can go pick the ring up. Thank you so much for stopping by!
Nice newsy update. I use Elementor on my business book website. I’m afraid to touch it. My designer does all that stuff!
Yep. I want to get away from Elementor, and will do so as soon as possible. It’s not user-friendly, and especially with a bootleg copy that has zero support. Thanks for visiting, Jacqui!
You’ve really been busy, Sister. I can’t believe Crystal left her ring up there! I’m sure her husband gave her fits about it. Thank goodness you found someone to completely redo your website and get it back in something that’s easy to update. 🙂 You’ll not regret it. Great Tarot card but I can’t think of anything I’m in doubt about. That Hemingway quote is very, very true. I still learn things all the time and I’ve been at this for well over twenty years. Love you, Sister.
I am happy that Ryan’s friend can rebuild my website and I know he needs the money as a struggling college student. As soon as I get the car a/c debt paid off, I’m doing it! That Hemingway quote really spoke to me. We never learn it all, that’s for sure. Thank you for stopping by! Love you!
For a quiet week, you have a lot going on. 😊 The cover is great! I also dislike shopping, especially for clothes. My wife knows I have little patience for it. We used to make a list of what I needed before the start of every school year, shop for an hour, and I was done for the year. 😎
My kind of shopping, Pete. 🙂 Glad you like the cover. I’ll see how it all ends up. Thank you for stopping by!
Glad you got lots done on your trip. That always feels good.
Hi Jan, I always enjoy your newsy Monday post. It’s good to know you are working on a short story collection. I am too but I have been putting it off. I’ll have to take the Emperor’s advice and get stuck in.
It sounds like a busy, but good quiet week, Jan. I like the book cover and quote at the end. Hope you’re having a terrific Tuesday! 💕
I’ve dabbled with book cover design a little, but I never feel comfortable with the end result. I’ll have to see if I can get my daughter involved some day!
