Happy first Monday of November! While chaos continues to remain prevalent across the globe, I’ve found a bit of peace inside myself that I cling to. I say prayers daily for all those in need and suffering. And I never fail to count my blessings.
I love that the time has changed back to standard time. I wish they’d leave it!

I had a a mixture of challenges along with some incredibly fun moments this past week. I’m behind on visiting blogs again. I thought I’d catch up yesterday, but instead I worked around the house then my daughter came to help me with a chore I couldn’t do by myself and I visited with her for a while.
I’ll get the challenges out of the way first. I had an episode on Friday where my car wouldn’t start. I had taken lunch out to my granddaughter and was heading into work at the Mindful Mermaid store but couldn’t go anywhere. I looked through my owner’s manual for some suggestions, then wound up calling my son-in-law. He was able to figure it out and walk me through a process to get it started. Turns out the battery had completely died inside my key fob. I thought it gave a warning before dying, but mind didn’t. Did you know if you hold the key fob directly over the push start button for several seconds, it resets something and the car will start? Once I got it started, I immediately stopped and bought new batteries before I went on to work. Whew! I’m so glad it was a minor challenge.
I think I finally have the White Rune book covers all done, so that challenge is behind me. At least I’m moving on. See what you think.

Now I’m doing the read-through of the manuscripts and hope to get them uploaded before too long. I will breathe a sigh of relief when that’s finally done and I can move onto something new.
The grandkids had a great time Halloween, and so did I. In my advanced age, I’ve become the designated candy distributor and I love it. The little ones especially, are so cute and they come early. Then the last ones to make it by are the teenagers and they aren’t as much fun. I found all of them to be polite and that made me feel good. I look forward to it every year. This is my youngest granddaughter in her costume.

Her older sister was a Minion and she never stopped long enough for a picture.
There are some holiday events coming up with all of the kiddos and I will make all of them I possibly can. I love the holiday band concerts and always look forward to that. I promise not to bore you with all of their shenanigans.
I want to tell you about a group of self-published writers I have found that I am enjoying a lot. It’s always nice to have other authors to learn from and chat with. And we can never learn too much. A lot of the content is geared toward new writers, but still I always pick up some new ideas. Should you take a look and decide to join the group, tell them I sent you! https://www.skool.com/self-publishers-unite-1672/about
Speaking of picking up new ideas, I also learned from someone in that group about a way to have AI driven Amazon Ads created, monitored and tweaked for you. All you have to do is choose the book or books you want to have ads running on. They do charge for their services, but the first 30 days are free so I’m trying it out. We shall see. If nothing comes of it, I’ll cancel before I’m charged a monthly fee. If you’re interested, check it out here: https://publishingperformance.com/ At any rate, I’ll let you know how it goes for me. Maybe that was the new idea the Ace of Swords was talking about last week. 🙂 As they say, nothing ventured, nothing gained.
I fell in love with this quote from Nikola Tesla

The Tarot card I got for this week is pretty much opposite from the one last week, but one I embrace.

While last week we had the Ace of Swords which was all about new ideas or inspirations. This week, The Hanged Man is telling us to literally hang out and reflect. I don’t know about you, but I feel like I need that. When you are suspended upside down, there is time to reflect and see things from a new perspective. The card encourages us to get curious about what we can learn from a forced waiting period, as it can lead to new spiritual insights. Surrender to what is happening and find peace in the moment. Wow! That’s advice I can relate to for sure.
That’s all for today. I hope everyone has a good week ahead. I’ll for sure have another post up this week with my October book reviews, so will see you then.
Sounds like a busy week and a busy week to follow. Not so bad when most of it involves family. Good luck reformatting the books. The covers look good.
Thanks, Dan. I guess all our weeks are busy, but it’s better than having nothing to do.
That’s true.
I’m glad it was just a key fob battery issue. Yay for helpful son-in-laws! The new book covers look great!
I agree, Priscilla. I’m thankful for my son-in-law. Glad you like the covers.
Cute Halloween photo, Jan. It’s so nice you have family close by. I found out the same way you did about the key fob. I called Triple-A, and the guy held the fob next to the start button, and boom. There was nothing written in the manual, and I had even called the dealership. No help there, of course. Wishing you a peaceful week.
Thanks, John. Yes. The only reason I live where I do is because of family. I’d mourn for all the things I’d miss out on, if I didn’t. That’s an interesting ‘hidden’ hack about the key fob, isn’t it? I’m so glad that the issue was nothing bigger. Thanks for the peaceful week wish! I wish you the same.
Cute Halloween photo. Love the quote and the tarot reading.
Thank you, Jeanne! So glad you stopped by.
That’s good to know about the key fob, Jan. I also thought they gave a warning before the battery died. Love your granddaughter’s costume! We had significantly less trick or treaters this year, and that’s the same story I heard from several others. Have a great week@
I was super happy to learn the key fob hack. At least now I know if it ever happens again. We had a ton of trick or treaters in my daughter’s neighborhood. They started super early and by 9, they were pretty much done. It was fun. I hope you have a good week ahead. I’m sure you’re enjoying taking a deep breath after another successful BMR!!
Sounds like you had a very busy week. I’m so glad the car problem was an easy fix. Hurrah for Jason! Sam was so cute in her costume. She’s growing up really fast. Soon she’ll be reading romances. 🙂 They are good for the soul. Love, love the new book covers. I think they’ll help tremendously with sales. Put them up in KU and I think you’ll see more money and reviews. Love you, Sister!
Here’s hoping, sister. I will definitely put them in KU. And you are right about Sammy, although she leans more toward mysteries than romance. Of course, that could change. 🙂 Thank you for visiting. I hope you have a great week ahead! Love you!
Good productive week. Love the car story. I took notes. I learned how to reboot my new TV (there is no reboot button on a remote)–that made my day and fixed the problem.
Love the book covers. Nice fresh take on the stories.
We continue to learn new things about this technology that’s part of our everyday world now. Glad you learned how to reboot the TV. 🙂 Glad you like the covers. Thank you for stopping by!
“Find peace in the moment.” Hear, hear! Thanks for sharing a slice of your life.
That is my new motto, Kristine! Thank you for stopping by!! I’m sending you an email with a question. 🙂
I’m not a fan of standard time. I prefer daylight savings time. It gets dark too early, and I don’t get to enjoy the afternoons, which is usually the only time I have. The covers came out great, Jan! Your granddaughter made an adorable witch. Love the tarot card! Wise words!

Thank you, Yvette. I appreciate you stopping by. It will be a few months before you get daylight savings time back. 😁
You got through the car key fob problem well, Jan, thanks to your son-in-law. Your book covers look great. The Halloween picture of your granddaughter is lovely.
Thank you, Tim! So glad the key fob incident was resolved quickly.
I had that same problem once, at home, ready to leave for a church service. I locked my pickup with the key, then unlocked it. It started up after that and has worked okay since.
Handy fob trick to know. Thanks. Book covers are terrific. The hangman, hmmmm, yes. I don’t rest enough and require more down time too. I kind of like the time change and early darkness because it makes me want to go to bed earlier.
Your posts are always informative and foster peace. Thanks for sharing the fob trick, Jan. Your grand daughter is beautiful.
The book covers look great, Jan, and thanks for the key fob idea. Beautiful photo of your granddaughter too. I’m also behind on reading blogs; it’s never-ending. 🥰
A great post, Jan. I am always fearful of car issues. I tend to panic if anything goes wrong. Your Halloween sounds fabulous. The hangman, well I haven’t had time to reflect on much this week but maybe over this weekend 💖
I hate car issues, Robbie, and it always happens at the most in opportune time. I have to agree with you about The Hangman. I am not finding much time for reflection so far either. Thanks so much for stopping by.
💜 have a good weekend
I had the same issue with the key fob for my SMART car. No warning at all when the battery died. I couldn’t even open the doors! Then it started going through batteries like crazy so I finally had to get a new fob. (which was not cheap!). Your granddaughter looks adorable in her costume.
Oh my, Darlene. Hopefully my issue was resolved with a new battery. Thank you for visiting!!
