Monday Motivation – #Meditation – #TarotReading #DragonOracleCard

Happy Monday, everyone! I’m happy to return from my blogging break with the first motivational post for the year. I had a wonderful holiday season, celebrating with family and am ready to roll up my sleeves and get back to work. I hope each of you had a fabulous holiday and are feeling renewed and refreshed in the new year.

I struggled with my word for 2024 but kept getting Connection. So I’ll go with that and concentrate on a deeper connection with spirit, my higher self and with others.

I loved this meditation! It left me feeling uplifted and peaceful.

Here is the first reading of the new year.

The Queen of Cups represents nurturing feminine energy. It can possibly represent a person in your life who embodies these characteristics, or it can also be yourself. However, this card can also symbolize the energetic presence of intense emotions in your life. It is time to look within and find the source of the emotions. This card also asks that you be receptive to creative inspiration that’s coming your way. Yay! Spend as much time as you can with people who inspire you.

The Six of Cups indicates harmony and possibly sharing of memories. When was the last time you felt safe, carefree and playful? Spending time with children is a good way to reconnect to you inner child. This card also invites us to share our memories and emotions with others, as we can see the girl offering a cup with a flower in it to another. Perhaps there was a lot of reminiscing with family and friends through the holidays.

The King of Swords serves to pull us back and reign in the emotions with clear intellectual thinking. The position it sits in, falls in alignment with the reading. We’ve had a time to really nurture ourselves and others and the holidays are normally a highly emotional time, but now it’s time to get back to work. This king embodies the characteristics of authority, intelligence and logic to attain your goals. As always, listen to your intuition to guide you as you go forward. You are also reminded to trust your voice in communications.

MY TAKEAWAY:

We had some time through the holidays to share with family and friends on an emotional level, perhaps being with children as I was, but now it’s time to get back to the business at hand and move away from emotions into intellectual logic and communication. Let’s get to work!

This beautiful little dragon card adds the icing to the cake.

  1. Perfect cards to start the new year. Thanks, Jan! I feel uplifted, inspired, and ready to crank out the words today. The gorgeous sunrise this morning also helped. 😉 Now if I can only find ten minutes to do the guided meditation you recommended…. *sigh*

    1. Lol, Sue. I totally understand the challenge of finding even ten minutes, but it’s time well spent. 🙂 I don’t manage to do a meditation every day but do several times a week. It helps keep me centered, grounded and more productive. Thank you so much for stopping by! Here’s to cranking out the words.

  2. I love the Oscar Wilde quote. Given the cost, we should value our experience more than we usually do.

PS – I’m trying to resubscribe. I didn’t get a notification for this post.

  3. Love that dragon, Jan. This could have been written for me. I kept working through the holidays, but also spent time with friends and family. Now I really need to get it in gear!

    1. Wow, Teri, my hat’s off to you for continuing to work through the holidays. I didn’t even try, but the break gave me the inspiration I needed to dive back in and the words are flowing. Have a great week!

  4. I’ve missed your readings, Jan! <3 This is a beautiful one, and so fitting. My word is Intention. I have big goals for the year and most revolve around my writing. I can’t wait to see what 2024 holds.

    1. I love your word for the year, Mar. Every single action we do starts with a thought, so intentional thought can reap big rewards. I’m excited for you and happy writing ahead!

  5. I like the word that came to you, Jan 🙂 I keep getting frugal. I have a feeling it’s time to let some things go and enjoy less… much more. I love this reading. Yesterday, as I sledded with granddaughters, I felt that joy and fun that I lacked end of year. Where I want to put my energy this year. Ready to create with from that moment. Hugs xo

    1. What fun, Denise! And what a great way to tap into that beautiful inner child. I too had lost my joy by the end of the year so the break was just what I needed. Now, I’m back working on my WIP and feel excited about it. I actually love your word. Frugal doesn’t mean Scrooge-like, but down to earth and practical. Here’s to a great year ahead! Thank you for stopping by.

  6. I like “get back to the business at hand and move away from emotions into intellectual logic and communication. Let’s get to work!” I think that’s true for me too.

  7. Ah, it always feels to come back home and to get to work after a break. Wishing you a productive, happy, and balanced 2024, Jan.

  8. I really need to buckle down and get to work this year. I feel like I’ve been on holiday since last June when I retired, LOL.Love the quote and the dragon card, Jan!

  9. The first reading for this year already touched me deeply. I read your explanations and the message for me is: reveal your emotions, accept them, embrace them, and bring them in harmony with your mind to take yourself where you are supposed to travel and to the destinations arrive. You are the way you are for a reason – the reason to make this life your life. Wonderful and deep reading!

    1. I love your takeaway, Erika. We have emotions for a reason and embracing them, then bringing them into harmony with our minds is such a wonderful and positive accomplishment. I’m so glad you enjoyed the post and thank you for your added comment! Hugs!

  10. Love the reading. It is time to get back to work and I felt that when I woke up this morning. It’s time to get going on a new project–my Christmas story for 2024. The idea is there so I have no excuse. I also want to move forward on other levels. As Harmony said, this quote really speaks to me. It’s so true that, right or wrong, we do something before we get the lesson and that’s hard. Wishing you all the best in this new year, Sister. I can’t wait for readers to get Beggar’s Bargain. 🙂

    1. I’m so glad you woke up feeling energized and ready to get to work, sister. I am anxious to start getting chapters of the new Christmas story. 🙂 And I’m anxious to start sending you chapters as well as I move forward with Oliver and Rose’s story. Thank you for stopping by and I’m happy you enjoyed the post today! Love you big!

    1. True, Robbie. Sometimes the cards are a blatant oxymoron. And yet, I always find a way to bring it all together. I’m glad you like my word for the year. Enjoy the rest of your time at the reserve! Hugs!

  11. What a positive reading for the new year, Jan. I’m definitely ready to return to my work. Wishing you a fabulous, productive week!

  12. I love that “connection” is your word for the year. This also resonates with me and is the theme of the book I am about to release ?✨

    1. Thank you, Harmony. I loved the Oscar Wilde saying as well and it is very true. I appreciate you stopping by and glad you enjoyed the reading. I wish you a wonderful year ahead. May you have fewer days of pain and more days of creating! Hugs!
