#MondayMotivation – #Meditation #TarotReading #DragonOracleCard

It’s a new week! I hope you are feeling inspired and positive. Positivity seems to be the overarching theme of today’s post.

I may have shared this meditation previously, but if so, it came back around again. I love the affirmations at the end!

The tarot cards support that theme as well.

We have two cards from the Major Arcana, which you may remember represent the bigger life lessons.

The Hanged Man is all about being still and hanging out, waiting to see what unfolds before taking a step. He is almost the exact opposite of The Fool. The Hanged Man reminds you that sometimes you have to put everything on hold before you can take the next step, or the Universe will do it on your behalf (and it may not always be at the most convenient time!) I am sure we have all had those experiences where circumstances beyond our control shut us down. If you’re in tune with your intuition, you’ll start to have a sense for when it’s time to hit the brakes and put things on hold – before things get out of hand. But if you’re out of alignment and oblivious to those intuitive signs, the Universe will probably put things on hold for you, in the form of continued obstacles, ill-health, and breakdowns. When you sense the ‘pause’ coming, pay attention to it; otherwise, the Universe will turn up the volume until you can’t ignore it any longer.

Six is a harmony number and is a multiple of the Trinity. The Six of Wands encourages us to toot our own horns. Maybe you’ve won an award or finished a manuscript. Whatever the reason, The Six of Wands also encourages you to put yourself out there and be proud of what you achieved. The Six of Wands is a positive encouragement to believe in who you are and your accomplishments so far. Have faith in what you’ve done and how others will receive it. Do not let fear or guilt stand in the way of your success. You ought to be proud! Hold your head up high and know you‘re worthy of admiration.

The Hierophant card represents an established set of spiritual values and beliefs and is often correlated with religion and other formal doctrines, which are often the basis from which we make important life decisions. The Hierophant‘s arrival suggests you are following convention and staying within the bounds of a tried and tested model. You are not yet willing to go out on a limb or offer any new and innovative ideas. Instead, you adhere to the key principles and rules that you know will lead to a successful result. This card often speaks to group membership or being part of an institution. You may enjoy a deep sense of comfort being surrounded by people who have well-established belief systems and explicit values.

My Takeaway:

Now is not the time for energetic action. It’s a time to take a pause, be still, and assess. Reflect on achievements, be proud of accomplishments, and then take that stillness and awareness into staying with positive thinking and a solid connection to your core belief system, as well as with other like-minded individuals as you move forward.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this Dragon Card!!

Good to hear some validation, Craig. When I pull these cards, I never know if anyone will relate, but I have to go with what I get. Thanks for leaving a comment!

  • Mae Clair says:

I’ve got some hurdles going on right now and my core values and beliefs are definitely what I’m standing on as I pause and assess. I’ve also managed a writing accomplishment that has me feeling pleased, and looking forward to new ventures.
As always, the dragon card rocks!
    Happy Monday, Jan! 🙂

  • Great reading today, Jan. I’m definitely in a mindset of being still right now. It’s what I need. I love the Elvis quote!

    • Jan Sikes says:

Oh good, Jill! I’m so glad the reading resonated with you. And I agree about the Elvis quote. It’s always a choice. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by! Happy Monday!

  • Staci Troilo says:

I love that Elvis quote. I’d never heard it before. I feel like I should frame it and hang it above my desk. Sound advice. Great post today, Jan. (And I feel the need to wait and assess and not act rashly at the moment. This was the post for me!)

    • Jan Sikes says:

I am so glad the reading meant something personal to you today, Staci. And I agree. I love the Elvis quote. 🙂 It’s always a choice. Thank you for stopping by!

“the voice of the universe” — What a beautiful expression and truth! Thank you for this lovely reading — timely and spot-on. 💗

    • Jan Sikes says:

You are most welcome, Gwen. I love that expression as well. Maybe you can use it in a haiku someday. I’m glad you enjoyed the post! Happy Monday!

I love this reading, Jan. It correlates with how I feel right now. I’m just staying in the middle of the road and write this story as I can. Trying not to worry about what comes after because the future looks pretty scary right now. The unknown is always so frightening but somehow it ends up pretty darn good. Love you, sister.

    • Jan Sikes says:

The unknown can be frightening for sure. But you are right. Somehow it all works out for the best. I’m glad you enjoyed the reading and thank you for stopping by to say so! Love you, sister!

  • D.L. Finn, Author says:

Great Elvis quote and I loved the reading. It has always been hard for me to toot my own horn. Wonderful mediation, I enjoy positive affirmations. And what dragon card is inspiring. A postive way to get back to work, thanks Jan.

    • Jan Sikes says:

I am so glad you enjoyed the meditation today, Denise. I did too. Positive affirmations are always good to raise our vibrations. Thank you for stopping by! Happy Monday!

  • Argh. This spread feels so right and like great advice, Jan, though I am so Not able to get off the rollercoaster right now. The only thing in my control is my attitude, so I’ll work on that! Lol. And I’ll take you up on the meditation. Thanks for that, my friend. Have a wonderful week, relax, enjoy, and trust the universe. Hugs.

  • Thank you, Jan, for sharing the tarot reading. It is an interesting combination of cards, particularly the hangman indicating that you need to take a pause before taking the next step. I like Elvis Presley’s comment not to go along with it when things go wrong.

  • Thank you, Jan, for sharing your tarot reading today. It is an interesting combination of cards, particularly the hangman signaling that one needs to take a pause.

  • I love how the dragon almost always aligns with the reading. In the past, I’ve shied away from sharing my accomplishments and bringing attention my way, but I’m learning to embrace my successes and share them with the world. We just finished our Spring Break. My sister and I took our kids camping. Though we rode our bikes over twenty miles, it was still a great time of rest, relaxation, and reset. As for making a connection with my solid core belief system, I relate that more to my writing community, which I have been growing and enjoying the connections I’m building. Great post, Jan! 🙂

    • Jan Sikes says:

I love that too, Yvette. And like the tarot cards, I pull the dragon card at random. I’m always afraid I’m repeating one, but I leave it up to the Universe. Either I trust it is what everyone needs (including me) or not. And I choose to trust. That sounds like a wonderful pause! Being out in nature is always good for a reset. I am so glad you enjoyed the reading and that it resonated with you. Happy Monday!

  • Erika says:

That reading hit home again.. this constant waiting before taking a step but seeing clearly what waits behind that step that makes you feel the joy of aligning with your joy by doing what is part of your soul’s nature.

  • I think the idea of pausing is a good one. Thanks, Jan.

  • Teri Polen says:

I’m more in the energetic mode this week, Jan – lots to get done and have some extra time to devote to it, so I’m taking advantage. Have a great week!

  • Joan Hall says:

This post is timely for me, Jan. I need a time of stillness and reflection, and next week I’m on a much needed vacation (staycation actually). At the same time, I hope to accomplish a lot with writing. Not having to go into the office each day should help!

    • Jan Sikes says:

A staycation sounds lovely, Joan! I hope you get the pause you need and accomplish a lot of writing!! Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment!

  • Hi Jan, this is an interesting set of cards. The Universe gave me and my family covid 2 weeks and we’ve all been forced to slow down and reflect.

    • Jan Sikes says:

Oh, Robbie, I am so sorry. COVID will certainly force you to stop in your tracks. I pray that you are all recovering and ready to move forward, although slowly. Take good care!

I'd love to hear your thoughts!
