#MotivationMonday – #Meditation #TarotCards #AngelOracleCards

I enjoyed my brief blogging break through the holidays, and now it’s time to get back in the saddle, so to speak. I wanted to change up my Monday posts and struggled with ways to do that, finally settling on changing the oracle card from the gorgeous little dragons to Angels. I hope you find some inspiration from today’s post! I love this quote from Confucius. It’s so true!

Here is a beautiful meditation to begin the new year.

Some interesting cards to start off the year. The Nine of Cups is about emotional fulfillment, happiness, and contentment. When this card appears in a Tarot reading, you are content in all aspects of your life – relationships, work, lifestyle, well-being, and more. You are basking in the abundance of life and experiencing your emotions with such intensity and pleasure. This is why the Nine of Cups is often called the wish card. It comes as a sign that the planets are aligned, and you have everything you wished for. If you made your wish and are patiently waiting for it to come to fruition, then this card is an excellent omen that it will soon be granted. Well, that’s some good news for starting the year! Remember to count your blessings and express gratitude for what you have. Start or end every day by creating a mental list of the three things for which you are most grateful. Over time, you will intensify your sense of contentment and your ability to attract what you wish for – it is the Law of Attraction. If you are struggling to find the positive side of life, then expressing gratitude will help you see that you have a lot to be glad about.

Oh, but wait! The Five of Pentacles is a card of loss and poverty. You have hit hard times, especially when it comes to your work, career, finances, and material possessions. The Five of Pentacles indicates that you feel isolated and alone. Just like the two people in the card, you feel as if you have been left in the cold. You may wonder, “Why is no-one coming to help me?” It may appear as if no one cares anymore. However, since the windows in the church are lit up, help is nearby; but you are too focused on your problems to notice. You may be waiting for someone to come and help you when really, you need to be proactive and ask for help. At times, the Five of Pentacles highlights a “lack of” mindset. You are sabotaging your ability to create abundance because you only focus on what you lack. The solution for that is to be grateful for all you have, as the Nine of Cups suggests above.

The Two of Swords indicates that you are facing a challenging decision, but you are unclear about which option to take. Both possibilities may seem equally good – or equally bad – and you are stumped about which will lead you to the best outcome. You must be able to weigh up the pros and cons of each choice and then make a conscious judgment. Use both your head (your mind and the intellect) and your heart (your feelings and intuition) to choose the path that is most in alignment with your Higher Self. The woman in this card wears a blindfold, indicating that she cannot see the entirety of her circumstance. You may lack the information you need to make the right decisions. The Two of Swords comes as a reminder that many of life’s decisions are difficult ones and rarely come with clear-cut answers. The invitation is to make your choices with your best intentions, fully aware of the possible consequences. Avoidance will lead to greater conflict and stagnation.

MY TAKEAWAY:

While I would have loved to start the new year off with a more rosy group of cards, this is what I got. There is nothing that will raise your frequency and vibration faster than gratitude. You may not have all you wish for, but being thankful for all you have and focusing on life’s blessings will bring about a big change. It’s been proven over and over again. And when you keep your thoughts and actions positive, hard decisions are easier to make. It’s time to remove the blindfold and see clearly, then move forward with a thankful heart!

The Angel Oracle card deck is one I have worked with for over ten years. I love the positive messages it provides. And what is more appropriate for the beginning of a new year than this one?

  1. HI Jan, A great post to kick off this series for the new year. This reading would seem to fit my life this past 10 days. Thankfully, I can say that the big decision is made and I am relieved about that.

    1. That is wonderful, Robbie. It’s always a big relief when a decision has been reached, and you can move forward. I wish you and your family all the best in the year ahead! Thank you for stopping by!

  2. Great reading, Jan. Interweaving all the messages with gratitude couldn’t be more perfect. ❤️

  3. This seems especially fitting with the recent decisions I’ve made in my writing life. I’m working on the healthy lifestyle suggested by Archangel Raphael- now to leave those chips alone! lol

    1. Lol, Jacquie. Yep. Those addictive chips. I’m glad you related to the reading and so glad you’ve made some positive decisions in your writing life. Thank you for visiting and leaving a comment!

  4. A mixed group of cards, Jan. But I love your combined interpretation. There really is little more powerful than gratitude to change one’s perspective and bring bounty into one’s life. I love that for the new year.

    1. I agree, Diana, that there is nothing more powerful than gratitude, and when it’s felt with honesty, it does change one’s perspective. Thank you for visiting and leaving a comment! Here’s to a bountiful new year!

    1. There are many blessings of age, John, and you are right. I feel more gratitude now than I ever have. We have so much. Thank you for stopping by. I’m glad you enjoyed the reading!

  5. The cards may appear a bit “sober” but on a second look, they appear as a great signpost of what magic gratitude is. Be ungrateful and you will receive everything you lack. Be grateful and abundance will be your companion. It is such a deep and impressive reading with one simply message (at least to me). Thank you, Jan!

    1. I agree, Erika, that at first glance, I thought they didn’t look so rosy. But as I studied them together, the message got clear. Gratitude is the foundation of abundance. When we give thanks from our hearts for our blessings, that’s when we can open to receive. Thank you for stopping by! I’m so glad you enjoyed the message!

  6. I did an new year reading from many decks and my first with my runes. I got the same message that I will go through difficult times but to move on to a better situation or get to the next step in my journey. My husband got the same thing but that he was an experienced teacher who needed to lead. I liked his better, but apparently I have the path of a shaman. At least it shows the end with be okay. Thanks for starting off our writing year reading, Jan and I love you are using angel cards.

    1. I love that, Denise! And I love it even more that your husband is willing to participate with you in readings. What a beautiful gift. I think we can all bet we will go through difficult times. It’s what forces us to grow. I also love that you have the path of a shaman. Thank you for sharing! I thought you might like the angel oracle cards. I keep them out all the time, as well as a deck of goddess cards I’ve had for a very long time. The messages are always spot on! Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment! Hugs!

  7. I’ve been reading more and more about how important it is to focus on the things we are grateful for, Jan, and what a difference that outlook can bring to our physical, mental, and emotional health. Gratitude is something I want to strive to embrace on a regular basis in the New Year.

    Happy Monday! ?❤️?

    1. I am right there with you, Mae! It’s sometimes just the little things we can feel grateful for. They don’t always have to be big or earth-shattering. I always give thanks for my washer and dryer when I do laundry. 🙂 Here’s to a year filled with gratitude ahead, my friend. Thank you for stopping by!

    1. I love that, Jacqui! Prayer is such a positive thing to do on a daily basis, and it doesn’t always have to be asking for something. Saying thanks is just good manners. 🙂 Thank you for stopping by and I wish you a great week ahead!

  8. Wow…gratitude is definitely what I’m been feeling at the start of 2023. It’s been a rough start here in California but I’m feeling blessed. As always, thank you for sharing Jan. Your posts are always a positive (or one of illumination) start to my week. Enjoy your week, as well. 🙂

    1. I love that gratitude has been front and center for you, Mary. Even in the darkest of times, we can find blessings. And when we focus on that, we are uplifted. Thank you for your kind words about the posts. I’m so glad you enjoy them. Here’s to a great productive week ahead!

  9. This represents my life on multiple fronts. I feel bombarded with problems but I know this is temporary and the road will smooth. I’m always grateful for what I’ve been given. Life is a journey with constant ups and downs. A writer once spoke about this and said, “Even on the clearest, calmest day on the ocean you can only see three miles.” Most of the time we can’t see that far. We just have to hold on, walk in faith, and be patient. Love you, Sister.

    1. I love that saying, sister. And you are right. Life is an unpredictable journey. Being grateful for all we have is such an uplifting way to live. Being patient has never been my strong suit and I’m getting lots of practice these days. 🙂 Thank you for stopping by. Love you!

    1. No, it doesn’t, Joan. So we take the positive aspects and run with them. I agree. Gratitude is the key to shifting our energy. Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment! Hugs!

  10. Wonderful reading, Jan! I agree, no matter our circumstances, I do believe there’s always something we can be grateful for each day. Mediating on that one thing makes for a better day. Have a great week!

    1. I completely agree, Jill. If we can only find one thing to be grateful for, focusing on that shifts the energy for the entire day. Thank you for visiting! Hugs!

    1. Thanks, Jeanne. I’m glad you resonated with the reading. The cards threw me just a little in trying to see how it all fit. But the main thing is that we need to be grateful for all we have. I’m happy you stopped by!

    1. I thought so, too, Craig. I wanted a happy rosy set of cards to start the year off, but this is what I got. I think the main thing to take away from it is to be grateful for what we have and take in all the information about a situation before making decisions.

  11. Although I don’t make resolutions, focusing (once again) on a healthy diet and exercise after holiday splurges and weeks of rain that has kept me more inside than out, is a good direction to head. We can always make changes for the better.

    1. I don’t make resolutions, either, Dan. I do, however, choose a word that will be my theme throughout the year and my word for 2023 is Abundance! You are right. We can always use a good nudge toward a healthier lifestyle. Thanks for visiting!
