Surprise!!
Yes, I know I said I wasn’t going to blog anymore in July, but then…
Willow Willer’s Tanka Tuesday Challenge immediately sparked something, so I decided to share it. I’m sure I didn’t follow her directions properly, but it’s my first time to participate.
Her instructions were to take a look through some of your old photos and pick one with a special memory. It can be any sort of memory, happy, sad, scary, shocking, hilarious or thoughtful… anything at all.
I immediately had this picture cross my mind and right behind it cane this tanka.
So, I decided to act on it and participate in the challenge. (Willow, forgive me if I didn’t do it right.)

My favorite spot
Sharing the day’s happenings
Holding hands touching
Letting the moment settle
Into my heart – feel the love
If you’d like to participate, here’s the link to her blog post: https://tankatuesday.com/2026/06/30/tanka-tuesday-challenge-71-photo-tanka-photo-tanka-6-30-26/
