#TarotTuesday – Queen of Wands

Welcome to another Tarot Tuesday!

If you are just joining me, let me explain the inspiration to begin these posts. In Texas, and all across the country, Taco Tuesday is a popular day when Tacos are usually 99 cents. So, I had the inspiration, or Angel nudge as I like to think of it, to create a Tarot Tuesday. Each Tuesday I will post a different Tarot card and give its meaning. I pray and ask for the right card that will bring a universal message.

I can hardly believe it, but we have another Wand card – The Queen of Wands!

The Queen of Wands sits upon a throne decorated with lions facing opposing directions, a symbol of fire and strength. (I’m sure it’s just the writer in me, but they made me think of bookends.) In her left hand, on her crown and behind her are sunflowers, symbolizing life, fertility, joy and satisfaction, and her right hand holds a wand with one small sprout springing to life. A black cat sits at her feet, a sign that while this Queen is bold and outgoing she is also in touch with her shadow self – the darker, lesser-known side of her being.

The keywords to this card are: Courage, confidence, independence, social butterfly, and determination. This is such a beautiful encouraging card!

The Queen of Wands reminds you that you are upbeat, courageous, and determined. You are here to see through your creative visions and life purpose, even in the face of adversity and challenge.  You know what you want and how to get it, and are masterful at engaging with others to achieve your goals. Stay fiercely determined and focused on your goals while being friendly and optimistic with those around you.

Don’t be afraid to own your real power and put it out into the world. You have so much to offer – so shine your light bright! Believe in yourself and what you stand for, and don’t be afraid to speak up and be heard. No one will silence you.

Ever the social butterfly, the Queen of Wands suggests that you lead a busy life, making connections with others and putting yourself out there as you pursue your creative vision.

You create a powerful first impression and can quickly win others over with your sweet, warm and charming nature. Now is the perfect time to put yourself out there and meet new people or create a community of like-minded people. They will be drawn in by your energy, passion and enthusiasm, and together you can create positive change in the world.

Finally, the Queen of Wands encourages you to get to know your shadow self, the lesser-known and sometimes darker side of who you really are. This doesn’t necessarily need to be a negative aspect of yourself, but could be something that most people don’t know about you… yet!

Wow! I don’t know about you, but I relate to this card on so many different levels, including the shadow part! Let me hear from you. Did this card resonate with you?

Thank you for joining me! See you next Tuesday for another inspiring message from the Universe via the Tarot Cards!

As always, I use the Rider-Waite Radiance deck and BiddyTarot.com for interpretations.

  1. What a lovely card. I do relate to this card. Yellow was my father’s favorite color and sunflowers were his favorite flowers and he loved cats, so I feel he’s speaking to me through this card. I’m a Leo so the lions are also relatable. I definitely have a close relationship with my shadow self, through my writing. Another great reading! Thank you, Jan!

    1. Oh wow! Reading your comment gave me shivers, Vashti. I think your father spoke to you through this card too! I can see how your shadow self surfaces in your writing. If anyone has read “Memoir of a Madwoman,” I think they would agree! What an intense story! I still find myself thinking about it! I appreciate you stopping by today. Hugs!

  2. Wow!! Wow!! I too relate so much to this card. You just gave me renewed confidence. Love you so much, I love these tarot readings.

    1. Yay, Sally! Thank you for stopping by. I know how busy you are and when I see your smiling face at my blog, it makes me smile right back at you! 🙂

  3. Had a discussion with my shadow self today and we agree that our goals are the same. I think that is a good thing. I like this card although I’m not going to go out and meet new people today. Just not going to happen.

    1. No problem, John. That’s only one aspect of the card and heck it can cover longer than just today. 🙂 I found that my shadow self has my same goals too. What a coincidence! Thanks for stopping by!

  5. I liked Denise observation about writing. As writers we have to tap into all emotions to breathe life into our words and especially our characters.

I liked the determination angle you shared as well. I have to admit that I am FAR from a social butterfly, LOL. Although most people who meet me think I am extroverted (despite being a true introvert). Maybe there’s a determination aspect to being social when necessary. 🙂

    1. Great observation, Mae. I think at heart, most writers are introverts. We spend so much time in our heads that sometimes it’s a challenge to function in social settings. But we are also good at faking it, and there comes the determination. 🙂 After all, the person you are mindlessly chatting with may just be your newest fan and reader! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs!

Another great card, Jan. I was drawn to the lions and black cat immediately. I have a black kitten laying on me as I read this so maybe that’s why:) I like the message to get put there but fight it at same time. Knowing our shadow self is important to write, I believe. I like and need the strength, so very fitting right now and to work through the obstacles.

    1. I agree, Denise that I was immediately drawn to the two lions, likening them to bookends. I can certainly see where you were drawn to the big cats and the black cat! And knowing our shadow self is imperative to writing. How can we flaw our characters if we are not flawed? 🙂 Thank you SO much for stopping by and leaving a comment. Here’s to strength to work through obstacles and let your light shine!!
