#TarotTuesday – The Chariot

Welcome to another Tarot Tuesday!

If you are just joining me, let me explain the inspiration to begin these posts. In Texas, and all across the country, Taco Tuesday is a popular day when Tacos are usually 99 cents. So, I had the inspiration, or Angel nudge as I like to think of it, to create a Tarot Tuesday. Each Tuesday I will post a different Tarot card and give its meaning. I pray and ask for the right card that will bring a universal message.

I created a short video to demonstrate how I pull the card for the posts. If you’re interested, here’s a LINK.

Today’s card is from the Major Aarcana – The Chariot

The keywords to this card are: Control, willpower, success, action, and determination.

The Chariot Tarot card shows a brave warrior standing inside a chariot. He wears armor decorated with crescent moons (representing what is coming into being), a tunic with a square (the strength of will) and other alchemical symbols (spiritual transformation). The laurel and star crown signals victory, success and spiritual evolution. Although he appears to be driving the chariot, the charioteer holds no reins – just a wand symbolizing that he controls through the strength of his will and mind.

When the Chariot appears in a Tarot reading, take it as a sign of encouragement. You have set your objectives and are now channelling your inner power with a fierce dedication to bring them to fruition. When you apply discipline, commitment and willpower to achieve your goals, you will succeed.

Now isn’t the time to be passive in the hope that things will work out in your favor. Take focused action and stick to the course, no matter what challenges may come your way – because, believe me, there will be challenges. You may be pulled in opposite directions and find your strength and conviction tested. Others may try to block you, distract you, or drag down the pursuit of your goal. But the Chariot is an invitation to draw upon your willpower, so you can push past the obstacles in your way.

If you are curious about whether you have what it takes to achieve your aim or complete an important project, the Chariot is a sign you will be successful so long as you keep your focus and remain confident in your abilities. You need to use your willpower and self-discipline to concentrate on the task at hand. You can’t cut corners or take the easy route, or you will fail. Instead, see this endeavor as a test of your strength and conviction, and recognize that victory is within reach, but it’s up to you to follow through.

Be bold in expressing your desires and laying down your boundaries; otherwise, you will not get your way. You need to have faith in yourself and know fundamentally who you are and what you stand for.

In a very literal sense, the Chariot can represent travel, especially driving or taking a road trip. You may even be considering selling your home and buying an RV so you can head off and roam the country!

And there we go! I also want to note that the number 7 is associated to this card. The number 7 is the number of the spiritual quest. Even if the person who resonates with the number 7 is in a secular profession, they will pursue their goals with an energy and determination that is nothing short of zealotry.

Wow! I swear you can’t make this stuff up. I have thrown my hat in the ring for NaNoWriMo and this card spells it out in no uncertain terms. It is all about staying focused, having will power and remaining confident. Okay. I’m ready! How does it relate to you?

Thank you for joining me! See you next Tuesday for another inspiring message from the Universe via the Tarot Cards!

As always, I use the Rider-Waite Radiance deck and BiddyTarot.com for interpretations.

  1. Balance is such a hard thing to achieve in life. Or, at least it is for me. I say when the Muse is strong, run with it. You are not on any deadlines other than what you create for yourself. I’m so glad you stopped by and left a comment. Thank you for the good wishes!

  2. Great card, Jan. I’m struggling to maintain that balance at the moment. The need to write is almost overpowering me when I should be focused on the final edit of my new book. I need to refocus. This card is a perfect reminder. I hope you have a marvelous time participating in NANO.

This is a fabulous card Jan:) I’ve had so many distractions I’ve gotten little done. I almost commited to NANO after not wanting to. Right now I’m using my will power to get healthy for Halloween:) I need to edit, but writing a new story pulls. Good luck with your endeavor, Jan!

    1. It’s so great to hear from you, Denise. I cannot even imagine what you guys are going through. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. It’s funny, but if you read Soooz’s comment below, she was saying the same thing about needing to edit, but being pulled to write. I say go with the Muse. Editing can be done anytime! 🙂 Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment. Hugs!

  4. This spoke to me, Jan: “You have set your objectives and are now channeling your inner power with a fierce dedication to bring them to fruition. When you apply discipline, commitment and willpower to achieve your goals, you will succeed.” Great reading.

  5. Be bold in expressing your desires and laying down your boundaries; otherwise, you will not get your way. You need to have faith in yourself and know fundamentally who you are and what you stand for. – This is the bit that relates to me, Jan. A great post.

    1. Wonderful, Robbie! Having faith in ourselves is sometimes the most difficult and yet so necessary! I’m happy you stopped by and that you got some inspiration from the card!! Hugs!

  6. The Chariot is such a power-card. When I receive it, it always confirms to me that I am already on my path and that I cannot help it anyway because I am meant to follow it. It tells me that I shall drop the doubts in order to keep progressing. Ahh, I love the Chariot card. AND you are right about the 7. It is my lucky number plus I was born on a 7th in 1970. Jan, since I couldn’t make it read your Tarot posts for the past couple weeks, I am sure now that reading this one today is exactly such a confirmation. Awesome, thank you for this post!

    1. I agree, Erika. The Chariot is such a power-card. It is all about movement, confidence and finding balance. Thanks so much for stopping by. I’ve missed you! 🙂

    1. I love this card too, Vashti! One thing that I think it stresses, is balance and that is something I struggle with on any given day. Thanks for the good wishes and for stopping by! Hugs!

  7. I’m going to go with you on the NaNo front and concentrate on staying focused.
NaNo is kind of like a journey too….from start to the finish of a novel. So in that sense it’s a bit like travel.
Hoping we both have a fabulous time on our trip and come out winners!

    1. Here’s to NaNo, Mae! Whatever word count I come out with will be totally awesome. And I’m getting some good nudges from my characters about the direction they want to go in. 🙂 Thanks so much for stopping by and for being my NaNo buddy!

  9. I love the timing of this week’s Tarot Tuesday. While I’m not doing NaNoMo this year, I’m still belting out quite a word count but have too much stuff going on to commit. For me, this card speaks to the need for me to keep that balance amidst pain and lack of sleep. It would be so easy to goof off but I’m determined not to give up on my writing projects. At the same time, I need to exercise control to try not to push myself too far. A great card this week, Jan. Thanks for sharing, and good look with your November writing! 🙂

    1. Awesome, Harmony! I totally agree that there is always a need for balance and I’m sure you are one to push yourself to the limits, as do I. So, it’s a great reminder. Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving a comment today!
