Whoo hoo!! Another book in this series is released today. Happy Halloween, and what a perfect book to debut on Halloween day! Take a look!

Blurb:
It’s 1967, and best friends Lacey and Sandy are enjoying a beach vacation, completely unaware of the danger that is lying in wait outside their door. Their room is quaint, with an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean and an old lighthouse, but a killer is stalking their next victim. Powerless, Annie the ghost watches, knowing there’s nothing she can do to help—not even her parents, the innkeepers. Who will survive their stay at the Harbor Pointe Inn, where the edge of evil lurks within the shadows?
MY REVIEW:
The first words in this story grabbed me. How could anyone not love the ghost of a child, Annie, who watches over the adults who occupy and care for the Harbor Pointe Inn? And yet, as she watches, she is also helpless to interfere when evil lurks. That’s the setup. So, right away, I know something horrific is going to happen.
When best friends Sandy and Lacey set out on a road trip in 1967, we immediately see the difference in their personalities. Lacey is the happy-go-lucky one, while Sandy is more serious and cautious. And isn’t that often how it is with best friends? They are realistic, believable characters, and their deep bond is evident from the start. Their destination is the historic Harbor Pointe Inn on the rocky California coastline. What could go wrong?
Other characters from previous Harbor Pointe Series books are included in this story, and I loved seeing them show up again. It’s like seeing an old friend.
I won’t spoil this for readers by telling you what happens, but I will say you may come away from the story believing in guardian angels if you don’t already. And you may also come away with less trust in strangers who appear harmless at first glance. There are elements of good vs. evil, friends and lovers, as well as paranormal intervention as the story unfolds in delicious layers. It has the kind of satisfying conclusion that I need as a reader. With all the aspects of a thriller, mystery, romance, and otherworldly influences, I highly recommend it!
Join me in congratulating D.L. Finn!
The Harbor Pointe Inn has loomed on California’s cliffs for generations of Hawthornes. For some, it’s been a blessing. For others, a curse. Travel through two centuries of stories to discover the old inn’s secrets.
