Welcome back! We’re continuing our journey through the Runes, with only three more to go!
Today’s Rune is Laguz (lah-gooze).
Laguz is the water rune, symbolizing the element in all of its forms. It is also connected to emotions, the cleansing of unwanted energy through tears, and the unpredictability of life.
If you are being tossed around in the emotional waters of a situation, Laguz advises you to release your resistance and go with the flow. Adaptability is key here, as continuing to resist your circumstances will only plunge you further into disharmony. The same is true when it comes to positive circumstances – acknowledge and enjoy them, but don’t cling to them as the source of your happiness. Let the fluidity of life guide you.
As the rune of water, Laguz is the rune of intuition and the subconscious. It also represents psychic ability which can be nurtured and strengthened with practice.
Laguz is symbolic of feminine energy and can represent the woman in the context of male-female relationships. Creativity and growth are further aspects of this rune.
Reversed, Laguz points to a lack of flow in your life, perhaps from feeling stagnated in a current situation. You may be blocking some unpleasant emotions that need to be allowed to come through in order to move forward. Also, in the reversed position, Laguz can point to a woman in your life who has hidden ulterior motives or is in some way a source of trouble for you at this time.
The birthdates related to this rune are April 29th – May 14th.

I’ve enjoyed this series Jan. Getting to know my Runes better. <3
Wonderful, Debby! Thank you for letting me know!
It is amazing how I can always make these readings fit into my life, a troublesome woman – oh yes! Have a wonderful weekend, Jan.
Very interesting, Robbie. Since they are just going through the runes and exploring their meanings, it has to be Universal timing that they fit into your life. I love it! Thanks for the comment!
I love this rune, Jan! I remember there was a time I needed to let my tears cleanse me.
Oh my goodness, Miriam, me too! When my husband passed away, the cleansing seemed to keep coming and when I thought I had no more tears to cry, they’d come again. I love that you picked up on that aspect of this rune. Thank you for your comment!
Very interesting, Jan!
Thanks, Joan!
This is my rune, for sure! Lol! It looks like a waterfall to me. Love it! 😊
Actually, it does, Yvette. And what a great rune for you. Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment!
I like that; release your resistance and go with the flow. I should practice Laguz’s principles more often. 🙂
You and me both, Jacquie! After I get exhausted from trying to swim upstream, I finally can let go and go with the flow. 🙂 Thank you for stopping by!
I’m drawn to this water rune 🙂
I can certainly see why, Denise. Thank you for stopping!
Sounds like a great rune. (unless of course it is reversed.) Looking forward to the next which willbe in my birthday timeframe. Thanks, Jan
So true, John. That reversed aspect applies to most all of the runes. Whoo hoo! We’ll see what your birthday rune is next week! Thanks for stopping by!
Thank you, Jan, for introducing this captivating rune. 🤗
You are most welcome, Gwen. Thank you for stopping by!
This is one of my favourite Runes. I need to be reminded every now and then to go with the flow.
As do we all, Darlene. And it’s not always as easy as it sounds. Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment today!
Going with the flow – always great advice! I didn’t know there was a rune associated with that. Your rune posts are always fun and interesting, Jan. Thanks!
It’s not easy to always go with the flow, especially when we want to manipulate a situation, but this rune gives us such great advice in that way. I am happy you are enjoying these posts. Thank you for stopping by!
I do not always comment on your blogs, but please know that I read them, absorb them, and learn from them. Thank you for always sharing your wisdom and experiences.
