MONDAY MEANDERINGS #22 – 2026

Hello, friends. Yesterday was the Summer Solstice, and I found this image to reflect that.

I had an extremely busy week (what else is new?), right? Still, this one was even busier than usual.

My granddaughter closed out the dance season with three nights of recital. The whole event was so incredibly uplifting. These kiddos work so very hard. I enjoyed every night of the shows. I also worked at the store, so did a lot of running back and forth. Still, it was all good. I’m not complaining.

On the last night of recitals, the entire family came out to support along with a couple of friends.

My grandson is home from college for a few days and we are going on a road trip today, so I may be slow answering comments. But I’ll get to them. I look forward to spending time with the three boys!

Yesterday was the Summer Solstice and after I got some much-neglected chores done, I rested. WHAT! I did. I took the day slow, listened to a Solstice sound bath and meditation on YouTube, and gave my body a break. I’ve been dealing with a bit of a health issue, so the rest was truly needed, and I feel more restored and ready to tackle another busy week.

On Saturday, I facilitated a writing workshop at the Frisco Library. It was a two-hour workshop I titled “Essential Tools for Powerful Storytelling.” I had a good number of participants and it was so uplifting to share hard-earned knowledge with newbie writers. Only one person in the class had published anything. The rest were all beginning their journey. I only had two hours, so had to scale it down to the most important essentials. I am hoping I can get other libraries interested in this workshop or something similar. I really enjoyed it. How I wish I would have had an opportunity like this in 2013 when I started my writing journey.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how my life has shifted into a heavier work mode, taking time away from creating. I keep hoping it’s temporary. I hate to turn down any opportunity to earn money as it takes so much these days to keep afloat. But I’m missing the feeling I get when I am in a creative flow. It feeds me on some deep level.

My Christmas story is sitting patiently waiting on me. And I will get back to it. Thank goodness, there’s still time to get it finished and out in time for the Christmas season.

I watched Remarkably Bright Creatures on Netflix and have to say it is one of the very best movies I’ve ever watched. We all carry around baggage because we think we have to. But this movie shows what can happen when we set it down. If you haven’t seen it, I do highly recommend it. I watch very little TV, but I am so glad I didn’t miss this movie.

No real updates on the pigeons except I did get a response from the property management company requesting that I call them on Wednesday. You can bet I will. 🙂

I love this quote in relation to the Summer Solstice. It is so true!

Here is a tarot card for the week ahead.

This card indicates something coming in rapidly. Events or projects set in motion are moving fast. Wands are spiritual and also carry the fire element. Even though there is rapid movement, the scene is bright and peaceful, so whatever is arriving is all good. I love this card and I am hoping this week will see some rapid movement toward returning to my story!

Thank you for visiting. I hope you have a good week ahead.
