Welcome to the beginning of a new month and a reading to set the tone for the month. I hope you enjoy today’s post! This quote from Ray Bradbury made me laugh.
I chose this meditation to share because we can all use a bit of empowerment. I hope you like it as much as I did.
We have some interesting cards to start October with.
Interestingly, the Strength card came up again. We had it come up two weeks ago, but apparently, we need another reminder.
It sits in the “What you need to know” position. And it represents exactly what it appears to. We all possess an inner strength that we don’t know we have until we are in situations that demand we find it. Strength reminds us that it’s not the size of our muscles but the willingness within our hearts that matters. When we show courage, we can endure any obstacles we encounter. You are stronger than you know! Be brave and trust your inner strength.
The Ten of Wands in “The New Perspective” position is all about hard work and carrying a heavy load or burden. It is a warning about taking on too many responsibilities. It is perfectly okay to say no. When we take on too many tasks, we are overwhelmed. Living at this level of action can take a toll on your body, nervous system, and emotions, leaving nothing for yourself or those you love. Consider your motivations and ask yourself why you are driving yourself so hard. Learning to ask for help can often alleviate some of this, but ultimately, the warning is to take a step back and put better quality energy into the things that light you up the most. The good thing is that ten represents the end of a cycle, so it could indicate the end of a project that has overwhelmed you or the culmination of events leaving you exhausted.
In the “Action to Take” position sits the Knight of Wands. He says the time is ripe to take action on your ideas or projects. He almost seems counterintuitive to the Ten of Wands, but let’s put it in perspective. Perhaps the solution to the overwhelming workload is taking action differently. Approaching projects from a different angle, one of passion rather than responsibility can shift the perspective. This knight exudes confidence and reignites a spark that may have dwindled inside. Has your writing become a drudgery instead of a joy? If so, this card wants you to find that creativity, that fire that made you want to write in the first place. Pay attention to your intuitive urges and act on them with confidence and without hesitation.
MY TAKEAWAY:
I can only view the cards from my own standpoint, and they each speak loud and clear to me. The Strength card is always welcome. In this reading it comes before the heavy workload and responsibility, reminding us we have untold strength to draw from in order to take it all on. But the thing to remember and look for each day is the creative spark that brings joy and fulfillment. In the process of preparing to celebrate a big birthday for my first book, I found so many errors that I was compelled to fix. It turned into a much bigger editing project than I anticipated and I almost crumbled, but I found the strength, and in working with it, I remember the excitement I first felt.
How does this reading speak to you? Let’s talk!
I was gifted a new set of oracle cards this week, and they are even more beautiful than the dragons, if that’s possible. Take a look at the first Unicorn card I pulled.
