Monday Motivation #Meditation #TarotReading #UnicornOracleCard

Welcome to the beginning of a new month and a reading to set the tone for the month. I hope you enjoy today’s post! This quote from Ray Bradbury made me laugh.

I chose this meditation to share because we can all use a bit of empowerment. I hope you like it as much as I did.

We have some interesting cards to start October with.

Interestingly, the Strength card came up again. We had it come up two weeks ago, but apparently, we need another reminder.

It sits in the “What you need to know” position. And it represents exactly what it appears to. We all possess an inner strength that we don’t know we have until we are in situations that demand we find it. Strength reminds us that it’s not the size of our muscles but the willingness within our hearts that matters. When we show courage, we can endure any obstacles we encounter. You are stronger than you know! Be brave and trust your inner strength.

The Ten of Wands in “The New Perspective” position is all about hard work and carrying a heavy load or burden. It is a warning about taking on too many responsibilities. It is perfectly okay to say no. When we take on too many tasks, we are overwhelmed. Living at this level of action can take a toll on your body, nervous system, and emotions, leaving nothing for yourself or those you love. Consider your motivations and ask yourself why you are driving yourself so hard. Learning to ask for help can often alleviate some of this, but ultimately, the warning is to take a step back and put better quality energy into the things that light you up the most. The good thing is that ten represents the end of a cycle, so it could indicate the end of a project that has overwhelmed you or the culmination of events leaving you exhausted.

In the “Action to Take” position sits the Knight of Wands. He says the time is ripe to take action on your ideas or projects. He almost seems counterintuitive to the Ten of Wands, but let’s put it in perspective. Perhaps the solution to the overwhelming workload is taking action differently. Approaching projects from a different angle, one of passion rather than responsibility can shift the perspective. This knight exudes confidence and reignites a spark that may have dwindled inside. Has your writing become a drudgery instead of a joy? If so, this card wants you to find that creativity, that fire that made you want to write in the first place. Pay attention to your intuitive urges and act on them with confidence and without hesitation.

MY TAKEAWAY:

I can only view the cards from my own standpoint, and they each speak loud and clear to me. The Strength card is always welcome. In this reading it comes before the heavy workload and responsibility, reminding us we have untold strength to draw from in order to take it all on. But the thing to remember and look for each day is the creative spark that brings joy and fulfillment. In the process of preparing to celebrate a big birthday for my first book, I found so many errors that I was compelled to fix. It turned into a much bigger editing project than I anticipated and I almost crumbled, but I found the strength, and in working with it, I remember the excitement I first felt.

How does this reading speak to you? Let’s talk!

I was gifted a new set of oracle cards this week, and they are even more beautiful than the dragons, if that’s possible. Take a look at the first Unicorn card I pulled.

  1. This spread speaks to me too, Jan. The summer was crazy and loaded with responsibilities. That’s coming to an end this month, and I’ve been reflecting on how to do things differently going forward. I haven’t written for months and months and hopefully will begin again. 🙂

    1. I SO relate, Diana. It’s funny how life goes in ebbs and flows. I’m ready for some flowing. This ebbing is exhausting. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by! Here’s to writing again (for you and me both)!!

  2. Jan, I like the Spread Hope and Joy card. Nice reminder, especially the white horse image stays in my mind. Images have become so helpful for me lately. We often forget to keep positive perspectives out in front. Daily life can get so tedious with troubles that need fixing. Thanks for the lift.

  3. Great life lesson! It took retirement to learn to say no and realize what a workaholic I’d become. My life has been in balance since then, and I’m very conscious of and appreciate that.

    1. That is a beautiful testimony, Pete. I love it. It’s so funny how we often can’t see the forest for the trees. A balance in life is hard to attain and harder to keep. I appreciate you taking the time to visit!

  4. Sister, I’m not surprised this reading came up. You always take on too much and get overstressed. But I’m glad you feel better about promoting Flowers and Stone now. It’s an amazing story. Beautiful Unicorn cards!!

    1. I will feel better about promoting Flowers and Stone, sister. That is if I ever finish. 🙂 I’d say it’s more of a rewrite than an edit, but I couldn’t let it stand as it was. Thank you for stopping by and glad you like the Unicorn. Love you!

  5. Oooh! What a beautiful unicorn card!

I am so glad you regained the excitement you felt when writing that first book, even if it did require a deep dive into edits. That also shows your growth as an author.

As for the Bradbury quote—I LOVE IT!!! That just may be my favorite yet, but considering it combines two things (creativity and cats) I’m obsessive about, that’s no surprise, LOL.

    1. The saying, “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” applies to these so-called edits I’m doing. It has turned into a big rewrite, and it’s wringing every bit of emotion out of me. I am right back there, experiencing all the things that happened. I’ve cried more in the last three days than I have this year. 🙂 But it is purging, I suppose. And when I finish, it will be a better product. Perfect? No, but better. Thank you for visiting, and glad you enjoyed the Unicorn card and cat quote.

  6. The reading spoke to me, Jan. I do need the strength and the reminder to approach writing from joy, not drudgery. I have a story I was trying to force into what I thought would be a good genre for it. I dreaded working on it. Once I approached it differently and added me and my passions back into, it began to flow. I need to apply that to the rest of my life, too. Great reading and I LOVE the unicorn cards. My current message is to bring lightbm where I can. Xo

    1. That is such a beautiful lesson, Denise. Perspective can change everything. I love that you’ve been able to make the shift and find the joy. I’m not there yet, but I’m working on it. I’m glad you enjoyed the Unicorn card. And I love your current message! So beautiful. Thank you for stopping by!

  7. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful reading, Jan. There’s quite a bit going on in my life right now, so I’m grateful for the strength card. And the Oracle card is gorgeous with a lovely message.

  8. I love that Oracle card, Jan! So beautiful.

Hang in there with the edits. I know it has to be hard (and painful) but think of how beautiful the finished product will be.

Had to laugh about cats following us. They can be stubborn little creatures. 🙂

    1. These cards couldn’t be more timely for me, Joan. What was going to be simple edits has turned into a full rewrite, and it has drained me mentally and physically. But I’m finding the strength I need to push through, and it will be a much better product when I finish. Perfect? No, but better. I loved that quote from Bradbury. 🙂 Thanks for visiting.

  9. Hmmm, how interesting. The ten of wands spoke to me immediately, lol! I have a tendency to jump right in after any set-back/illness and load up my plate. Yet my shoulders relaxed when I saw the knight of wands. I’m definitely heading in the right direction. Just need to remain focused and stay true to my path. Slow and steady. You’re correct. Sometimes it’s “okay” to say no. Took me over 60 years to learn this important message.

Oh my goodness! Loved the Unicorn card! Let’s dance, sing, and spread the joy! Great message for this month, Jan! Thank you! Hugs!

    1. I am the same, Mary. When I get behind (or what I perceive as behind) I load my plate to overflowing, and the next thing I know, I’m burnt out. This supposedly simple editing of my first book has turned into a full rewrite. And I’m still not done. I took on way too much with a time crunch and had to let everything else go to finish. I hope to finish tomorrow. Sigh. Seems I never learn, but I am drawing on my inner strength, and I will see it through. Thank you for your comment, and I’m so glad you enjoyed the Unicorn card. They are a huge addition to my collection. 🙂 I’ll be sharing more for sure.

  10. I may repeat myself but the reading speaks to me clearly. Maybe my employed job will end in the middle of next year due to us closing the business center. My boss is retiring and I don’t want to take over. So, I already thought of what to do then, already checking on jobs,… until I thought: “Hey, stop it, you have enough on your plate and you can make something of everything, also have more time for your own business then. You have the strength. You don’t need to stress yourself out since you don’t even know yet what will happen. When it is time, you know what to do and opportunities will appear to be taken.”
Yes, the reading is a wonderful confirmation! Thanks for sharing and solidifying my inner peace, Jan!

    1. That is so wonderful, Erika. Our monkey mind always wants to try and figure things out, but it really comes down to keeping focused, tuned into our intuition, and trusting. You are so right in that timing is everything, and when it is time, you will know, and opportunities will show up. What an incredible journey this is, and we continually learn along the way. Thank you for your comment!

    1. It seems we all needed that strength reminder, Jill. I definitely needed to see it to help give me strength to push through the overwhelming workload. I loved the quote, too. Thank you for stopping by!

    1. Thank goodness the Strength card showed up again, because I think we all need to be reminded again. The work load…it is what it is. Mine I brought on myself, but I will push through and get it done. Hang in there!

  11. That unicorn card is gorgeous, and I love the message. The cards you’ve pulled for this week are spot on for me, definitely, and I’m taking them to heart. I was all ready to start on a new novella series today when I realised I’ve made a big mistake back in August and that’s trying to pull me down. I have to do what I can to put it right and move on, though I do feel sick, argh. The quote at the top of the post is fantastic. Thanks for sharing, Jan, and have a good week. Hugs ???

    1. I’m so glad you enjoyed the new Unicorn card, Harmony. They are all so gorgeous. I will enjoy sharing them. It’s uncanny how the cards can fit situations. It’s hard to fix mistakes by going backward, but that is exactly what I am doing right now as well. All we can do is push forward, make right what we can and never look back! Hugs!
